You obviously missed Parker's bullet to baseline cutting Barry about a minute before.

I think Parker's passing this year has been vastly improved!
I saw that and that was a great pass. And he has improved, as his stats show although some of that is because Spurs are shooting the lights out so far this season.

The thing is with his speed and ability to penetrate, he can find lot of open men as the defense collapses on him. He just needs to have a better court vision & understanding of where the open guy is instead of trying to bull his way into the paint all the time. I think he can easily up his assists to around 8 a night and if he improves his mid-range a bit more, he will be the complete package and Spurs will be a scoring machine

Spurs agreed to lose this game but Manu didn't get the memo and it was enough to win it.
Thanks to Madsen, he gives some motivation to Duncan.
yeah Duncan seemed to be fairly passive until Madsen tried to physically manhandle him and got TD really pissed.

Well, at least we know for sure TD hasn't lost it as basically he was dominant from that point on, rebounding, pressuring the defense, scoring and collapsing the defense to allow our 3 pt. shooters to do their thing.

TD normally doesn't get 40 minutes but today we fell in the hole and he ended up having to stay on the floor longer, but he didn't seem tired or slow although at the end he shut it down for the last 3 minutes when the game was over.

Uh, you think their focus is just stats. Marbury once avg. 25= ppg and 8apg in PHX Do you need a big=breasted woman to give you a hug to calm your hatred on Tony Parker? Every coach raves about him. You just complain.

Yeah, that was a bad play in particular.

But I think it just comes to quick thinking rather than selfishness.
He's been looking for the optimal play more this year though, so it's not so bad. 9 Assists speak for itself.
I am really not sure where he racked up so many assists because it didn't feel like he was controlling the floor and finding open man. THat one bullett pass to Barry when his defender started to double team TD in anticipation of an entry pass into the paint left Barry open and Parker saw it.

Anyway good win, and it always starts with defense of course, and paint dominance which opens up the 3's & lot of great passing by everyone

Maybe his coach wants him to be in ATTACK MODE! DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY TIMES HE'S SAID THAT IN ING INTERVIEWS???? Get a ing grip dude! He does what he's supposed to do. He puts pressure on defenses with his speed, so he holds the goddammned ball looking for a hole to get through. If his coach and teamates aren't complaining, who the are you to do so? Sit back and enjoy the winning....FAN
There are times to attack and there are times to distribute. You don't just run headlong into a wall just because coach says you must be aggressive. Playing aggressive doesn't mean doing same thing over and over again. Anyway tony is getting better.

Actually the thing I am most impressed so far this year is that he is not turning the ball over. This is very very important and good for TP

    Unbelievable...

This guy was a raw 19yr old kid that had speed as really his only asset to playing the game. Since then he has grown his game to include a reliable teardrop, several finishing moves with either hand, a mid-range jumpshot, and of course....passing/vision.

He's averaging career highs in assists and assists/turnover ratio and has improved every year since he's been in the league...and it's still not enough?

I suggest you realize that it's a good thing you are a fan of a team who's PG is an all-star and one-time Finals MVP.

Oh yeah and BTW...HE'S 25! Give him, me, and everyone a damn break and let it go!

But as always, you never let facts get in the way of your thinking.
Stats can be misleading. Yes TP is passing slightly more but I think the spurs have been shooting very well so far which may explain the higher assist numbers partly. But i do agree he is realizing that when he draws doubles or sees a wall of players, he is more likely to kick it out to 3pt. shooter more so than last year (although against Washington, he was ridiculously successful at going into multiple defenders and finishing)

The problem is even I have learned to accept this POP want's Tony to shoot when he penetrates..and Tony has never had great court vision, so we have to accept that. Give Tony credit he is improving...last year he would have kept shooting if he wasn't shooting well..this year he is definitely looking for his teammates.

Can he average more assists yes...but that's not what Pop asks of Tony and Tony is known as scoring point guard. So enjoy him for who he is!

I understand exactly what you are saying and maybe you are right. It's just sometimes very very frustrating to watch him miss a completely open player or watch TD waving at him as he establishes a deep post position and TP reacts too late. Anyway he has come a long way so no complaints especially since Spurs are winning.

    So?

The Mavs will eat you alive even in your barn look-alike arena
You make an awesome point here. The Mavs next Wed are going to kick the Spurs ass all over the place. I will be at the game with my mavs gear giving Spurs fans because this is one team they cant beat especially in the AT&T American Airlines Center!! Expect Dirk to have 30 plus, Harris to have 20 plus, Stack and Howard to add 18-20 points as well as JET having over 25. Mavs will be the team to hand them their first "home" loss. Keep preaching on that fact brother!!

EVERY player in this league has flaws, but you are a fan of a team that has three GREAT players, a great coach, and a great system. There really isn't much to dwell on, so relax and enjoy.

BTW, the Spurs as a team are 6th in the league in Assists Per Game. I don't guess Tony's supposed selfishness is hurting them too bad...

I think he found a lot of Manu, Bruce, Barry and Tim, but yeah, I didn't realize he got them up to 9 by the end of the 4th by the looks of his play today.
I thought Manu had more than 4 assists, by the way the game was looking.
I think Tony could be faulted two, three years ago, for getting tunnel vision, and not finding his guys, but he's doing it a lot more in the last two seasons so it's kind of reaching to demand so much perfection from him at once.

oh well, i will always have Vaughn to complain about.

Interesting that Vaughn didn't play much tonight and that Pop went with a lineup playing Manu at the point for a bit.

Perhaps Pop did it to get Jacque back to his form of last year....when he played within his relatively limited game and gave the Spurs key defensive minutes and efficient overall play.

This year has clearly been a different case thus far...

I agree, overall he is playing very good this season. Look, if he can maintain this level of efficiency & field goal % against top teams, and still be able to penetrate consistently and score, i will be a very happy guy as that will mean another ring and a repeat finally. I am just not sure that TP will have it that easy against Mavs, Jazz, Pistons, Bulls, etc. in the playoffs.

Parker haters complaining about his passing after he has an nine assist game? Classic.

You can get on him for being a bit passive this game but the only pass he missed was a pass to Barry where he held it for an extra second before passing it. Pop pulled him out and got on him for that mistake. But damn, I don't know what more you guys want from him. For a point guard who doesn't handle the ball nearly as much as other point guards, doesn't play as many minutes as other point guards and doesn't run as many pick-and-rolls as he did the last couple years, he's been getting about as many assists as humanly possible.

The guy has just scored 31 pts in 7-9 3-pt shooting and didn't even talk about himself.
I really think Manu hates talking about himself. I remember after a playoff game last year where he had an awesome game one of the guys on ESPN was interviewing him and he just started to talk about the team and what the other players were doing well. The guy just went back to how about him having an awesome game and all of the sudden Manu looked almost embarrassed and uncomfortable talking about it.

I am worried about Manu, I was reading his post game comments and I realized that this kid has some issues with the important order of things. He said:

""Today I was really good with that (three-point) shot. They made a decision to double Tim, and so that's where I had open shots. I've always been working on my three-point shot, especially to make them come hard and then use my penetration."

Someone please tell him is better the other way around, first use the penetration and then make them come hard

Kill your self got! Nice back peddle though genius!

    I really resent this message...

Its wrong to write, "Kill your self got!"

    This is so wrong--

You should be ashamed of yourself.

This comment cannot be tolerated in a civilized society.

The proper thing to write is:

    "Kill yourself, got!"
