And Dirk's injury wasn't all that severe.....thus him playing 10 days after he fell.....of course this is my opinion, yours is that people take longer to heal, of course you also have no idea how severe it was, even though he was walking on it the very next day...but I am sure it was a MASSIVE injury and he is just an UBER quick healer.

I don't think Dirk is really a choker (even though I've said so on occasion). That team would be a lottery team without him.
If he could get better at posting people in the low block, he'd be absolutely phenominal. Also, his D could improve.
That said, you have to give him props for playing so well last night, especially since coming back from that injury.

Tim Duncan can hit a sixteen foot jumper, but you don't want him doing that on a consistent basis. Dirk's post moves are mediocre at best, and he doesn't have the center of gravity to bowl people over. When he gets points in the paint, it's from drives facing the basket. The best thing to do is get him the ball on the wing and let him take a two-step pull up jumper before the defense is set. He is a 2 in a 4's body.
It would be nice if late in games Avery would put the ball in Kidd's hands and run a p'n'r instead of iso'ing Dirk and the defender can crowd him, thereby forcing him to drive where the defense can collapse on him. That's what happened last night on the strip by Odom.

The problem is for the PnR to truly work teams would have to honor Jason Kidd, and the fact of the matter is that both defenders would stick like glue to Dirk and let Kidd shoot a wide open shot.....you know why? Because he can't shoot.
I agree with your premise, but the players are faulty in your scenario.....
At least Harris could get to the rim in that scenario...Kidd can not....
Kidd is great in the open court in the half court, in the playoffs he is exposed, and if other players are not hitting jumpers.....then you are doomed.
Last night, Kidd did a very good job of getting wide open looks for both Terry and Howard and they could not knock them down.....
Kidd did ok, but in order for you guys to truly be a contender he has to be able to score the ball too....

I just think if Dirk developed his low post moves, he could more or less "quarterback" the offense like Tim does on occasion when he draws aggressive double-teams. This style of play would've helped against Golden State (last year). Also, he's such a good shooter, he could throw in a lot of baseline turnaround J's, like Rasheed does.
