i think that the most that the Clippers can give him for a max is 140M
when he had a hot hand, pop pulls him out of the game
when he wanted more minutes, pop pulls him out of the game
hot hand, yet ignore on offense by scrubs on the team
put urself in his shoes, what would u do?
i think that the most that the Clippers can give him for a max is 140M
its funny how at the end of the 2017 playoffs, everyone here knew that Kawhi getting hurt in game 1 changed everything. We all knew the kind of player he was/is. We knew that we could have had a good chance to take out the warriors that series if he had never gotten hurt.
Then his rehab/group/uncle happened. And everything changed.
Just because we hate the guy for doing what he did does not mean no one recognized how great he was. Why do you think so many fans are so bitter towards Kawhi? Cause he was an amazing player that THE SPURS drafted and helped develop into the player he is today.
Its just funny how fans throw the fact that he's doing so well in Toronto in Spurs fans face and say "SEE, i told you he was good and was deserving of a max contract"
Well no duh, but his group/uncle/rehab/game management ruined any chance of that. POP loved him some Kawhi, he praised him and mentioned how he truly believed Kawhi was the best player in the NBA in 2017. So if you think the Spurs undervalued Kawhi then you are mistaken. But how can you risk 1/4 of the teams salary cap on a player that is giving off red flags left and right. But if that was the main issue, I'm pretty sure we would have heard more demands on wanting a Max Contract.
But instead we just heard that it was due to not treating his injury properly and because of Parker or whatever so he wants out and wants to go to LA. Or it was just the Uncle who knew San Antonio is a small market that will not help his new agency company grow and whispered in Kawhis ear that it will be better for the both of the them to go to LA.
So even if a max contract was offered, he was still likely gone.
He wasn't ringing no matter what this year as long as the Warriors still exist. He already won by answering the skeptics about his health/durability after last season. The man's been balling and straight-up carrying a team in Toronto.
Real talk: the Spurs ed up by not dumping Porker years ago when he was freezing out Kawhi every game. Without Porker around to run him offPERIOD, Kawhi would have been a Spur for life.
Clipper Guy,
How do you win by giving up $50-60MM you could have earned from the Spurs Guaranteed just by playing ball and not being an A-hole along with his "Group". Kawhi has no attraction regarding endorsements at all to the extent he could make up the money SA could have paid him. He has answered no questions regarding durability by missing every fourth game and never playing a back to back two or three years after his supposed injury occurred. He won't even articulate what is actually wrong with him. The Spurs totally sheltered him for years and he thinks all he has to do is pretend what he and his group did was proper behavior. Look it - Nephew stole over $20MM dollars last season. Period. The guy never was injured in that nothing was torn or broken.
The San Diego Clippers signed a broken Bill Walton a long long time ago and he did nothing for them. I believe Nephew's chronic knee issues are going nowhere and he will have issues for however long he plays - I see a repeat situation. Sign at your own risk Clipps.
Well there is that!![]()
In fact saying "just as"is being way too kind.

Lol, the pussy missed a third of the season this year!![]()
Don't go putting facts into a perfectly lame argument! Haha!
And he's the first player in NBA history to have not played any second game of back to back while being active in a full season!
I ain't gonna lie .. it stings to see Kawhi slay it in the playoffs .. he should still be a Spur .. damn it
Wow already defending him before he signs with the Clippers. At least wait until July 1st when he signs with the clippers before knob slobbing him.
1. He's not proving anything to me other then proving my point from last year that he was faking injury. The media knew he was faking it but pushed the narrative he was hurt so they could get him traded to the Lakers.
2. The media for the most part is corrupt and are going to protect these superstars for the most part. Look at Durant for example the worst the media can say about him is that it's debatable if he's the best player in the league. I don't expect them to ever trash #2. If they ever do trash him it won't be for at least another 3-4 years and it would be due to him not ringing in that time period.
3. He didn't leave because of Parker. Stephen A has stated that his mind was made up a long time ago before the Parker fiasco and that he just didn't want to be in SA. Stephen A said that he just wanted to be home. His camp just used Parker as an excuse to leave. If he wanted Parker gone the Spurs would have gotten rid of him to appease #2. Avery Johnson got kicked off the Spurs many years ago due to Duncan hating him and AJ was actually closer to Pop than Parker.
4. He's playing great. Definitely a top 3 player but stop with your typical hyperbole bs in acting like he inherited a lottery team. He inherited basically the same team that had the best record in the East last year along with an improved Siakam.
5. Even if the Raptors don't have a chance of ringing this year due to the Warriors I will still enjoy seeing him lose. They are certain players I have despised over the years and have taken great pleasure in seeing them lose even when they weren't threats to win it all ala Kobe from '04-'07 and '11-'13. I will enjoy it every year whenever #2 loses in the playoffs. Granted he could ring again in the future with the Clippers but we'll see. Nothing is guaranteed.

Hey man,i don't blame you.
Nephew's sister always sucked at explaining what she means on social media.
RIP to whoever it is they lost of course.
Just glad Masai got fleeced in the Gasol trade after what he did to us.
You mean after what Nephew did to us, right?
He blocked every decent trade from the get-go by limiting his destination to only LA. That immediately deflated any and all trade offers. I get disgusted by people that blame PATFO when only one person (or group) deserves every ounce of our animus. Try not to forget this.
As it was, we still got our starting center for the next decade+ out of it and whatever Pop an mold out of DD and the 29th pick.
Kawhi yes but also a bit Masai. Fortunately this draft is loaded at the SF position so we could easily get both Duombouya and Louis King while the Raptors are stuck with Gasol's bloated contract after Kawhi goes to work for the lesser Microsoft man.
Brett Brown helping us out here. Sending Kawhi packing in the 2nd round. The loser can't even get out of the 2nd round in the East, LOL!
Too early to celebrate man.
This x 100.
Is that true about AJ? I never knew Duncan had a problem with him.
The part that's really pissed me off is Raptors fans claiming that they've treated him so much amazingly better. Just sickening.
Go ahead and live with the garbage contracts of Gasol and Lowry! Pfft!
Yes Duncan didn't like AJ's constant nagging and also didn't like how he tried to push religion on the team. He put up with it up until the Spurs got swept by the Lakers in '01. AJ was an FA and the Spurs didn't re-sign him. Spurs drafted Parker that summer and AJ responded after the Spurs refused to resign him by saying something along the lines "They drafted a kid to do a man's job." There was a telling interview many years ago during the '06 playoffs where they asked Duncan if he could ever play for AJ and Duncan responded by saying no not a chance. AJ also admitted during his retirement ceremony that he did drive Duncan nuts when he said and I'm paraphrasing "Tim thanks for putting up me."
Van Gundy taking shots at Kawhi, LOL!
