    Trump flunks Supreme Court arithmetic

On Monday, the Supreme Court handed down arguably the most important abortion-rights ruling in a generation, prompting the Republican presidential hopeful to say … literally nothing.

    To the
consternation of some of his social-conservative allies, Trump acted as if the court’s decision didn’t exist, offering no response in speeches, interviews, or social media.

It took a few days, but this morning the presumptive GOP nominee broke his unexpected silence in an interview with conservative radio host Mike Gallagher.

“Now if we had Scalia was living, or if Scalia was replaced by me, you wouldn’t have had that, OK? It would’ve been the opposite.”

Actually, no, it wouldn’t have. This week’s ruling was actually a 5-3 decision. Yes, Antonin Scalia’s passing meant the Supreme Court was down one justice, but it doesn’t take a mathematician to know 3 +1 does not equal 5.

Remember, the decision was on Monday, and today’s Thursday. Trump and his team had three days to come up with the candidate’s response to a major court ruling, and this is what they came up wit

The World Doesn’t Think Donald Trump Would Make a Great President, Poll Finds

People across Europe and Asia strongly believe presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump would do a poor job of world affairs as U.S. President,

85% of the Europeans surveyed doubted Trump’s ability to do the right thing regarding world affairs. Among them, 92% of Swedes and 89% of Germans said they had no confidence in Trump’s ability to handle the international aspect of the presidency. Some 87% of Australians and 82% of Japanese agreed.

The mogul enjoys slightly higher levels of support in China, where only 40% said they had no confidence in his leadership. He also rated comparatively better among European’s Euroskeptic or anti-immigrant parties. In the U.K., 30% of rightwing U.K. Independence Party (UKIP) voters said they had a positive view of Trump. In Germany, people who hold a favorable view of right-wing and anti-refugee party Alternative for Germany (AfD) were more likely to hold confidence in Trump.

The poll showed that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clintoninspired confidence from the majority of countries surveyed. Across the 10 E.U. nations polled, 59% have faith that she will do the right thing in world affairs. Greece was the notable exception, where 78% say they have no confidence in her ability to deal with world affairs.

Donald Trump Wants Consequences for GOP Rivals Not Endorsing Him

told a crowd on Wednesday that he isn't happy that some of his former rivals aren't endorsing him — and the way he sees it, there should be consequences.

Trump called those 2016 candidates who have yet to endorse him in accordance with the RNC pledge "sore losers" who "should never be allowed to run for public office again." Among those names yet to officially and explicitly endorse Trump are Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Names that could, come next election cycle, be back in play once again.

For his part, Trump says he "would have honored the pledge" if the roles were reversed. "I wouldn't have gone crazy, I wouldn't have had 'Let's yell it from the loudest building,' but you know what, I would have honored the pledge."

Sources from both Kasich and Cruz camps told NBC last month that they aren't expecting to speak at the July convention in Kasich's home state of Ohio.

But Trump's fights with fellow conservatives didn't end there.

Taking on the traditionally GOP-friendly Chamber of Commerce, Trump repeatedly attacked the group, calling them "totally controlled by the special interest groups" and "various groups of people that don't care about you whatsoever."

The chamber tweeted against Trump's anti-NAFTA message in the aftermath of his first major trade policy speech, saying that "NAFTA has NOT been a disaster for the United States."

The art of making a deal applied to the campaign by some of his brilliant staffers.

No matter that they got a list of people most unlikely to give and that the letters read like an incompetent public radio station pitching for funds.

rmt if you read this, you need to be doing more than working phones and stuffing envelopes for this particular campaign.

LOL - I never got a matching email - when I found out about it, I went back searching to see if I'd missed it. I only got a solicitation email a few days later for the first time - surprised it took them so long to ask. I hope he doesn't get in trouble. He really isn't a politician at all.

This excuse only works for so long. He is the presumptive nominee. At this point in the game his inability to surround himself with a competent staff is alarming.

Both campaigns are making unforced errors - unfortunately for Hillary, her own husband made a pretty big one. Still this is not the worst thing Trump has done (unless criminal charges are brought) to his campaign - the judge with Mexican heritage was :-( Don't think he can recover from that one.

    Edit: bolded added for clarity

You think questioning the objectivity of a person is worse than suggesting the United States incorporate a religious exam to enter the country? Can you please go back wherever it is you came from?

    This is important.

The first level of entering politics in San Antonio is often the school board. If you make stupid decisions here you can hurt a lot of kids. And you can hire your uncle to supply the food for the entire district and get kickbacks (see SAISD)
Incompetent Trump worries me more than Trump the narcissist. Government is NOT a business and should NOT be run like by a sleazy real estate mogul. This is probably one of the worst background jobs I can think of for a presidential candidate.

rmt really is terrible at this.

In the same breath rmt is condemning one person while basically letting the other off the hook because "it isn't the worst" he has done.

As long as there are no criminal repercussions, the donation email is just a little blip compared to all the others Trump has made. The incident with Bill and the AG in effect forced the AG out of the decision-making process regarding the investigation - it now all rests solely on Comey's decision - taking away a possible out/lessened outcome by AG for Hillary.

Trash supporter very concerned about 'these hibby-jobbies they wear at TSA'

"Why aren't we putting our retiree, our military retirees on that border or in TSA, get rid of all these 'hibby-jobbies' they wear at TSA -- I've seen them myself?" Cathy Chevalier of Hudson, New Hampshire asked Trump, referring to the head coverings worn by some Muslim women.

Trump did not provide a definitive answer, responding, "Okay, you know, and we are looking at that, and we are looking at that, we're looking at a lot of things." It was unclear if Trump's answer was referring to hiring more military retirees or getting rid of TSA Muslim employees who wear the hijab.

More than 25 percent of TSA’s total workforce has prior military experience and as the military’s drawdown continues, the armed forces are expected to separate a million service members over the next several years. TSA is committed to reaching that talented pool by supporting the employment of veterans.

For another thing, there are nearly 6,000 self-identified Muslims in the U.S. military.
