He's good at rebounding. He can't be ny worse than Nazr.
Well the PERFECT Bruce Bowen replacement is gone.
He's good at rebounding. He can't be ny worse than Nazr.
does this mean we have the biggest international roster. if so theres one positive
Tried to read his Stats, but I need to get TP on the line to interpret that!
How can some of you be flipping out like the Spurs have no clue what they are doing at the end of the first round.
I imagine about 25 other GMs right now are probably going, "OH !??! Who is this guy and how did we miss him?!?!"

Is he a center, dude was tall, just looking at him walk to the podium he doesn't look to agile but i guess you'd have to be to be a volleyball player
I guess Amare's torching the spurs on offense really put a bur in the spurs arse. This guy reads like a pick that was designed just to match up with AS...
Ya it also appears he is a pure PF...
Definetly an unexpected pick, but reading the scouting report, he sounds like he may be a good pick for you.
This guy seems very Anderson Varajoa-ish.
Bull Gino2882.
OBVIOUSLY RC and whoever felt Mahinmi was more what the Spurs were needing (barring trade). Don't give us this moaning crap.
If only I tried harder. I could have predicted this!

Ya, but, WHY pass up on the perfect SF for this team in Mickael Gelabale???
Maybe Pop swings a trade for him in the second round to someone. The Knicks maybe...
" Strengths: Ian is a real monster in the paint, using his good athleticism and long arms to grab tons of boards ... Reads the ball well off the rim, and even when he doesn't read it, his pure athleticism usually leads to the rebound ... Great length, wingspan and reflexes allow him to grab lots of long rebounds that would bounce right over most other player's heads... Defensively he is a beast ... Incredible reach allows him to alter and/or block shots other players wouldn't even think of contesting ... Has very quick hands, leading to lots of steals and tipped balls ... When Ian does score, many of his baskets come off tip ins and offensive rebounds ... This could account for his high shooting percentage (18-30 at 60% in Zaragoza) ... Very good at establishing position in the paint, reads the play very well when making cuts and calling for the ball ... Gets the ball in good position under the basket drawing lots of fouls ... A solid free throw shooter for a post player (70%) ... In fact, many of the points he scores come from free throws ... Runs the floor very well, and is one of those hustle players coaches always want on their team ... Always goes for the loose ball, blocked shot, or hustle rebound ... Has decent court vision when around the basket ... Foot work is good around the basket, but needs to add some moves to his arsenal ... His potential is considerable."
A "project" as an athleti,c rebounding "beast" defender? What's not to like?
He looks like a project to me, dude just starting playing basketball from what i was hearing from the espn guys.
Obviously hes NOT the perfect SF...
This guy is going to the NBDL. Count on it.
stat line is poor. he has to keep developing but some say in france he is as good as petro if iot can tell you something and better than turiaf i feel stupid i forgot him
We will see...Pop is bound to be wrong once...isnt he?
How can you say Gelabale is the perfect SF for this team? How often have you seen him play?
Well obviously I dont know he is the PERFECT SF, but he seems to be what the Spurs were looking for at SF.
It seems like the Boston Herald was the only place that knew the Spurs would pick him.
Im sure there are very good reasons for it. I trust the front office, they've done good things before. I'm sure there were a lot of people like you ing about drafting Tony Parker at 28 and Gino at 52 or so. Just wait and see what happens.
