Artest has been so bad since his knee surgery. Meniscus surgeries are no joke and he could just be done.
I'm also skeptical Pop is interested in another difficult to manage player less than one year after the Jackson failure.
Maybe the FO knows something we don't. MWP's condition is probably worse than it seems.

Artest is still the most legit James defender, from the waived ones, TBH, still just third in my wish list.
Yeah would have loved having MWP but that injury is a serious concern. Its slim picking for the Spurs so I hope they pursue Clark.
13. Chicago Bulls (29-26; last week's ranking: 13): A source backed the report that Chicago has expressed interest in veteran free-agent forward Antawn Jamison, who was waived by the Hawks after being acquired last week.

Kawhi and Diaw are both more effective at this point. OKC needs it way more than we do, assuming one of us gets there.
didn't even want artest nor Jamison.
Just sign Clark and call it a week.
I honestly believe it will all come down to Daye. Him and Clark could play a really similar role. If Pop thinks Daye could contribute and will play him, there is no point to bring in Clark. If not, I hope Pop is just as high on Clark as Spurstalk is.
MySA is saying MWP is not coming? Welcome to the Spurs bro.![]()

I'm really not fond of the idea of signing Jamison.
I guess Metta's knees are done, tbh, if the Spurs don't have any interest in him..
He's definitely crazy, but his reputation is much different than Stephen Jackson's..MWP has never had issues with teammates management IIRC, especially as he has grown older..he's the opposite of Jackson, in that regard..if the Spurs aren't interested, it's probably due to physical reasons..
Earl Clark's athleticism is the only remaining option for me, tbh..Granger has nothing left, and Jamison is a Black Bonner at this point..
If Artest isn't coming here then I have to think that the hesitation came from the Spurs' side. Seems like a good situation for MWP especially after the Knicks debacle but it's tough to gauge the mindset of a crazy person.
Will be a real shame if the Spurs whiff on Clark/MWP/Granger. Will be even worse if they end up signing Shannon Brown the rest of the season since he's shown that he's now terrible at basketball tbh.
Signing Jamison is even worse than standing pat IMO
Signing Jamison will also be as bad as resigning Brown.![]()
At least Shannon can dunk during dead balls and pregame warmups tbh![]()
For what it's worth, spoke to a prominent Heat official last season about Metta. Was told that org liked him "5 years ago." And it's now 6.

It works.
Neat. Hopefully the Spurs can land him.
Not surprising, but if I were the Spurs, I'd try to get him to commit quickly or go with Clark. Don't let this drag out only to end up with no one.
I can't believe they aren't going after Clark already (maybe they are?)
Unless they like the defensive PER numbers of OPP SF's that Danny has posted.
I guess, I just would rather have Granger because I trust his ability to come into our system and contribute on defense IMMEDIATELY. I feel like Clark would be a hit or miss player who would have to figure things out in our system. If anyone plays a system similar to the Spurs, it's the Pacers. Granger would be a factor from day 1, especially with Kawhi on the mend.
