His cranking up the war on drugs was to go after war protesters, knitters, Mexicans, the latter two being the original Anslinger anti-drug targets back in the 30s.

If no one plagiarizes anyone, it will have one up on this one, for sure.
I'm not sure Trump gets a bump from this convention. It was a complete dud. Negativity, anger and half-truths work with the base and all but after a week of that Trump's speech was overkill tonight. I thought he would be smarter and take a more mild-mannered but serious approach in an attempt to look Presidential. Instead he came off as more of a old man yelling in fire and brimstone.
