I didn't see the whole game but wasn't he pretty poor against Miami, too?
He was TBH... not to on players, but showing his age... His compe ive spirit was alive on defense like in this game though.

Yeah, I thought about your "ups and downs" warnings during that first half. They got it together for a bit, to close that gap, but that was pretty shabby-looking basketball in the first half.
And it was Kawhi's greatness... MVP season coming up. He will need to. No kidding. I liked Tony in this game, moving the ball more, etc... but Kawhi is on pace for league MVP.... you stray too far from him, it's a loss.

didn't like Pop starting Simms, tbh... in that lineup, you gotta feature Kawhi/LMA... if you want floor spacers, put Forbes out there

He was poor against Miami... I thought tonight he's made some plays on defense, but the decisions on offense have been generally bad...

I mean, all in all, he's been trying to make things happen, just not very well.
He simply isn't capable of making things happen like he did a few years back. Some of the time he plays like he knows that. But a lot of the time he just doesn't seem to accept it. I thought the Spurs were transitioning Manu to much more of a spot-up 3-point shooter as last season wore on. I liked that idea. He has the shooting touch to occupy that role for maybe a year or two. But he has to accept it - plus, the team needs to find a bench unit ball handler to replace him. I have noticed that Simmons has been getting some of those opportunities, and I hope he might come through.

I'm just thrilled to see what LMA/Pau will look like 15 games+ from now. There is so much potential with them and Kawhi/Danny.

I don't think he's trying to do stuff he can't do... I do think some passes were dubious decisions though

Agree. But if you're going to experiment, second week at home is the time to do it, I guess. He's going to have to give Danny some burn to get him acclimated when healthy, so this might be the games for such things.

The thing about Kawhi is that he keeps making it look easy, like he's not doing anything big. It's easy to be surprised when you look at his stat lines. Not to over-do the comparison, but that's exactly what Tim used to do.
