Yeah it's going to shut down again but the Democrats will be in a better position to spin this as Trump and McConnell's fault.

It actually puts more pressure on Mcconnell and Trump. Plus CHIP is no longer a bargaining chip.

Basically, the democrats accepted on Monday what they turned down Friday. Bottom line is if they want DACA they have to address other immigration reforms too or yeah, we will be right back here in three weeks.

I think it's going to end up DACA for the wall.

it makes sense symbolically tbh... i agree with the principle that amnesty type stuff only makes sense if you can curtail future entries.

    but...

    a) i have doubts that a 20 billion dollar wall is going to fix the problem it intends to fix (also its quite funny to add a big spending project right after slashing your future tax revenue)
    b) i have bigger doubts that democrats would vote for it because of muh racism. they will see a vote for the wall as validating trump's rapist comments

I'm sure it'll get spun to something like..."oh I didn't say they'd directly pay for it".

Maybe they'll say that the wall means that Mexico will now have to bear the cost of whatever it takes to deal with the would-be refugees from all the Central and South American countries.
Or maybe Trump will impose some tariffs on Mexican .

To which they'll raise the prices of goods manufactured there to offset. ....which in turn we'll end up indirectly paying for the wall we directly paid for in the first place

Of course the wall isn't going to fix anything. Trump doesn't want the fixed, he wants something to parade out to the low information voters forming his base. Democrats will be forced to vote for it so they can claim victory on DACA.

If the trade really is DACA for Wall, give him his stupid wall. It doesn't win him any votes, it won't product any results, and it's something cool for us to vandalize for a few years until we demolish it.

I agree. I hate the wall, but at least it's going to be a lot of Trump voters with their homes and property on the wrong side of that ing thing.
