Who gives a if Toronto kills in the (first 2 weeks of the) regular season. They still don't have enough quality scorers and are depending on (mental midget) Kawhil Leonard to remain healthy all season. I doubt that'll happen with how historically fragile he is.

I don't think real fans are thinking this team currently with DDR had a sure shot at a championship. Playoffs is the ceiling. No you, you have no idea how serious DeMar’s depression was in the past. It was a big talking point for several years in Toronto. Him getting traded was beyond devastating. Seeing how good the Raptors are doing while the Spurs free fall is going to take its toll on him.

I don't ever question DeMar's commitment to the Spurs, if anything the fact that he wanted to stay in Toronto, a city that for decades in NBA circles was seen as a foreign frozen hole with players bolting all the time they finally found one who wanted to stay. DeMar was devastated about being traded. But I know he wants to prove the Raptors wrong for trading him and go all out this season.
To see the Raps have a good start, to see the guy they replaced him with be worshiped so quickly is going to take a toll on DeMar. He wanted to be the one to take them to the Finals but it sadly was never going to happen. Not his fault, he's just not a #1 or #2 option if you have serious championship aspirations. He's also dealt with a lot of family issues as well.
Basketball is his life, it's his escape. I'm not saying losing to the Pacers is going to have him give up, but the fact the Spurs have a realistic shot of missing the playoffs while DeMar has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove otherwise, while the Raptors potentially have the greatest team in franchise history while DeMar is completely forgotten now is going to understandably be rough for him. When the one thing that is supossed to give him that escape goes south (and we are only 4 games in, a lot can change) I absolutely believe how the Spurs do WILL have an effect on him mentally. Raptor playoff losses in the past have put him in a tailspin. Basketball matters to him...a lot.
That's all I'm saying.
Not sure why anyone would be surprised by the awful defense when the backcourt players on this team are Forbes, Derozan, Mills and Beli. All trash defensive players. Murray got hurt, Danny got traded. Kawhi no longer there to cover this up etc. The defense will be awful until Walker and White return, then there might be some hope.
Let’s be real we all know this team is not a playoff team I love LMA and Deozz every one else are basically scrubs. Patty and Forbes are starting for Gods sake that should tell all you need to know how bad we are right now.
I am still watching them play they do play with heart but this Summer Pop has to clean house. We need to get taller and more athletic and he is going to have to trade or let go of guys like Mills, Forbes, and Poodle. We get two hopefully first rounders so RC better be scouting his ass off.

if only green or anderson was still left on the team, wouldve given him some defensive help, as offense cant be that bad compared to the vets on t he team who have no excuses for zero pts production or just negative performances

I'm still very bitter towards Kawhi but god damn does he look like a genius leaving this sinking ship. Spurs were never gonna win squat with LMA as a #2 option.
Lowry is an even crappier #2 option but the Raps have far more depth and much better shooters to surround Kawhi with.
