Not a surprising loss considering Memphis is desperate and the Spurs aren't good enough to coast or have an off shooting night against any NBA team.

I'm even going to put my Pop sucker hat on say he was tinkering around (for some ing reason) and that he was in a tough spot with Rudy out, foul trouble, Bertans getting tossed....

Because there'd be no other explanation for an NBA coach to look at a calendar earlier in the day...see that its January 9th 2019....and then during the game go, wow Dante doesn't have it tonight, better sub in Quincy Pondexter.

You just got to love how our Spurs come to play every night/every game.............NOT...!!!

One game they look like they can beat Golden State, Toronto and Milwaukee 125-75. The next game they look like they could lose to Chicago, New York and Phoenix 75-125. This team seriously needs an ass biter leader like Timmy, Manu, Avery, Mario, etc. Someone not afraid of getting in every teammate's face and giving them what for. Chew their ass out if necessary. How they have the energy of a Cheetah going after an Antelope one night and the next they look like they are laying in a hospital bed in a coma. Time for a cold one.
The came out of the 2nd Half with more effort, but that 1st half was a bit much to pull out of with how our guys were shooting.

When you aren't loaded with talent, you better bring intensity, focus, hustle

Spurs had none of that tonight

    I noted Davis' intensity

The thing is they are all getting paid $million$ to play 48 minutes a game a 82 nights a year. These guys (all teams in all sports) are in tremendous shape, get pampered like a Kardashian/Jenner, live in mansions, drive Bentley's, Lambo's, Ferrari's, Range Rovers and the like and they can't give fans many of whom spend a week's salary to take the family to see just one game (I won't even talk about us season ticket holders for years) 48 minutes of all out effort? And that 48 minutes is loaded with rest periods....timeouts, quarters and an extended halftime. There just isn't any excuse they can make that is believable outside of serious injuries to half the team.

Totally agree, not in so many aggressive words. Posters are just going to react like that all the time the one major deterrent about posting here.

Folks need scapegoats. Simple as that.
Yea I feel you. I guess after awhile you get tired of reading some of that bul . I’m sure most on here are genuine fans. They just act like broads at times.

The day Houston lost we lay an egg. Oh well, can't win every game but we'd better not look like this tomorrow

We are not living in the day to day life of other people. We have the LUXURY of seeing things from the outside.

Human nature. We see pampered they see day to day. You get accustomed to things an easily forget what it was like without them.

I can hardly think of people outside of say my father or a number of individuals that I can count on my hand that laid down that level of consistency day in an out. It Is Down Right Inhuman to behold.

This was still a winnable game in the 4th despite playing pretty bad all game.A couple of possesions going in our favour and it would be a different story..

Also this Memphis team looks like a bunch of dudes that think they are a good team when in reality they all suck. From the flopping "imma throw my head back like i'm hurting,to get free throws" Gasol to the eternally mediocre Conley.

Memphis, move that team already to Seattle and erase their existence from history.

On to the next, hope Rudy gets back and we move away from LMA-Poodle lineups.LMA is not Timmy D,Poodle is not Splitter, this isn't 2014.

After a sucky loss against the nuggets spurs "fan" was all but assured that we would lose to the clips. Spurs came out strong. I believe we at least come out strong tomorrow. If it leads to a victory we'll see but they will bounce back.

This was ugly and its a back to back tomorrow, and then at OKC. Could be a 3 game skid if Spurs don't come out motivated tomorrow. Looked dead out there tonight.

    1. If we continue starting LA + Poeltl it'll cost us more games

    2. What's the thing with Griz and the refs? Second time this season the refs are killing us especially hard against Memphis

But, the average worker whether blue collar or white collar doesn't come anywhere near making the kind of money a pro athlete makes. The way society is today we are willing to pay money to be entertained by these guys. The least they can do is put out the effort, i.e., try and give everything they have. That's one of the main reasons sports teams have benches. Give it all you have and when you run out of gas the coach puts in your backup. I realize no team is going to win every game every season. All I'm asking for is some effort each game. This Spurs team is capable of winning a lot of games as we've seen. They are also plenty capable of losing a bunch of games, as well. Last night, plain and simple, was embarrassing.

To say the truth, they are paid for none of those reasons. They are paid to win, and in a lesser way, to make a deep playoff run.
So if this team plays lacking a few games, but still manage to perform and be compe ive in the west playoffs all our regular season crying would be senseless.

Was really unfortunate. I thought White and Davis were the only guys that came out with a ton of intensity. Davis unfortunately was too frustrated with some 50/50 calls. White had a couple of bad calls and it was just one of those nights for him. For some reason Poeltl and Derozan do not have very good chemistry.

WHAT THE OTHER SIDE IS SAYIN BOUT THE GAME

    smaller
    athletically challenged

That's what happened when you on the Spurs

this dude is active on a pounding the rock SB nation website too
    lol

    https://www.grizzlybearblues.com
    Derozan smaller and athletically challenged?
DD is pretty big for a SG and most definitely super athletic, the things he's missing is mental toughness, commited defence and a 3pt shot.
The are these people watching and have the audacity to comment on basketball?

And scrubs like Casspi and Noah can't even stay on the floor if they are not allowed to hack on defence on every play!
    Ignorant pricks giving basketball takes..smh

I'm sorry but, I have no idea what you are trying to say. Clear up the English and try again. TIA
