Wemby is generational defensively but on offense you feel like you could be getting more.

Nobody WANTS to tank, that’s just what those of who are actually being realistic know what needs to happen. The non tankers are simply in denial. Stop making like the tankers are the bad guys here.
Please don't interpret my statement as trying to make Team Tankers bad guys... I was just stating the facts. There is definitely a point at which it makes sense to effectively shut it down this season. That point may have been yesterday, tbh.

Spurs digging themselves a big hole with bad and/or close losses. Blew the chicago game. Blew the Miami game, blew the Charlotte game, and now this one

He may have skills but he doesn't rebound well for his size and he gets pushed around too easily. A grown man would have secured that rebound the possession before and the Spurs would have gone into the final 30 seconds with a lead.
Oh stop with that boomer , does he look like a grown man to you? Just because he's tall it doesn't mean he has the strength. He can't even post up 6'7 wings properly.
He should've done better in some other areas, like not chucking up random logo 3s when we were up and could've put the game out of reach.
Coping that he'll play a "real man's game" akin to Timmy or Admiral is just delusional. He's a 7'5 wing who happens to be the best rim protector ever, for better or worse.

i was hoping this team could make the play in/playoffs and get some experience but clearly thats expecting too much

keep the Ls coming and just enjoy watching Castle/Wemby

hopefully Wemby gets out of this funk soon

lets see what a full offseason does to his development, he is definitely a part of the problem with the teams poor rebounding, not being strong to hold his own and box out

What’s gonna happen is they’ll play like this til March, then they’ll turn it on and finish the season like 6-4 and convince the front office this squad is good to run back

They didn't blow the Charlotte game. Charlotte had the lead that entire game and outplayed the Spurs. Spurs were lucky to draw close in the final seconds.

Too bad there isn't a single reporter who's going to ask our supposed coach what the was that.
I've got no basketball degrees, so I'd really like to hear an explanation why did he tell them to run the clock down with 24 seconds left, opponents having no time-outs or reliable FT shooters.
Not to mention it was only a 1 point game so even if our shot failed and they made both FTs, we could've still called another time-out and had a 3pt attempt for OT.

ing , you're spending $150 million on the roster, we have the highest paid front office and coaching staff in the league and then this happens?
It wasn't even a major up or something, just someone completely out of their depth.
You have a point but had Vic made that shot, that would have sealed the game for good and we would be here celebrating the kid's first truly clutch moment.

Ok so maybe it wasn’t by design but now Wemby blames himself for the loss. That’s actually a good outcome when you are better off losing anyway. Two games in a row with the game winning shot being missed by each of our top 2 stars. Ping pong balls we sorely need. Yes it’s always annoying to lose but we didn’t deserve to win anyway.

CP3 again isolated and destroyed on defense. Im guessing we’re gonna have to watch this for the rest of the year.

For real. His defense is ahead of his offense, which is already great but still has plenty of rooms to improve. Good thing is that he's still incredibly young. That's actually scary.
We just need to be patient. The problem is he'll have terrific games that will force us to jump the gun and expect him to be MJ and once again forget that he is ing 21 years old.

Generational talents play on both sides of the court. Considering how good he is defensively, his offensive rating is a paltry 109.

No worries I didn’t actually mean to single you out, it was just the most convenient post to quote related to my point. I actually thought you were mainly just coming around to the grim reality that beating these crap teams on the road isn’t actually helpful to our future. It’s not an easy thing to come to terms with in the moment, we are all employing different coping mechanisms and I think looking forward the lottery is the best approach. Once we fast forward to that, it is easier to disassociate with the disappointment of where we are right now.

Spurs just desperately need some toughness in the interior and on the glass.

They're just unfortunately very soft in that area with zero effort.

All good amigo. Yeah, I think these two losses in particular are as close to a nail we can get. Could we still possibly go on a run? Sure, but it's highly unlikely. We really need to sweep the ATL-CHA-ORL-WAS stretch to have a solid shot at the play-in. We're still only 3 games back in the loss column to the 8 seed, but I don't see it coming together at this point.

I'm a little torn on how to handle the rest of the season. I think there are definitely some positives to come out of Fox developing chemistry with Castle and Wemby, and seeing how Devin and Sochan perform with the additional gravity he brings (like tonight, for example, Devin was fantastic. If he was like this consistently through the end of the season, that would answer a question that we really need to get answered ASAP... we cannot go into next season wondering if Devin will be a fit)

I love CP3 because I hated playing him. He’s way past being a winning level player these days.

Champ is not a playoff level rotation player but at least we are seeing that clearly.

KJ for all his flaws is 5th in the league in bench points. Coupled with his valuable contract (next year’s Collins expiring type) and likability I’m not down on the guy.

Sochan has severely regressed and it’s been horrible to watch. He drives in the lane at will and then just chucks out some lame pass that other teams figured out fast. But, on the 1 in 20 times he actually tries to drive and score, he clanks it so teams don’t even have to guard him really. It’s a bad situation and his confidence looks totally shot which hurts us even more when Barnes is our only other “big.” Sochan doesn’t even seem to able to grab an easy rebound half
the time, he’s in a total funk.

I was not down on Wemby, he’s in a rookie/soph wall, bad sinus, lethargic funk of his own. But when that still gets us 18 and 9 plus 4-4-4, singling him out is ridiculous. He played only 30 minutes on a back to back, and was only 1 each away from a 5x5. Yeah that really sucks, LOL. Spoiled en led brats.

My boy Sochan catching strays while having an impactful game and the bench unit actually maintaining leads. Wemby and Fox having awful games is actually frying your brains. It would take some time before those guys learn to play together. Sochan + Castle is finally clicking is one of the positives this past games.

The Fox shut down remains a great idea. Then we still give CP3 his last hurrah and that’s not gonna win many games. But it leaves more PT for Castle and especially more shots. 32-50 record, Castle ROY, Wemby first All Star. Perfectly good season!

He was horrific and had to be yanked right away in the first. Was a bit better later but I stand by my statement that he’s in an awful funk, overall. I think he’d get more than 18 minutes if he earned them. Mitch had the right 5 guys on the floor at the end, which did not include Sochan or CP3.
