Today is when we really missed Manu. Defense especially, but it would have also been nice for him to splice the lane and open up things
    Yup.

But if he had played last night, he more than likely would've been spent too.

Hes not too good on the second game of back to backs either.

but the real question is can Flip help this team make it in the playoffs??
Yeah it will be interesting to see how that pans out. He hasn't had the greatest of success in the playoffs. The only thing I can say against that is the Pistons players have been together for a while.

Flip isn't big on defense, good thing for him that the Pisons players remember what got them the ring.

So Flip wont be that big of hindurance.

The question will be, can Antonio MickeyD, Arroyo, and others help spell the Piston's starters so that they arent worn out come playoff time.

true but you also need good coaching, and a coach that can make a strategy for the team

Larry Brown is overrated. I don't like Flip that much, but the Pistons aren't going to implode because of coaching or anything.

LB may be overrated, but Flip will never be half as good as LB.

    i have respect for LB

Well they obviously haven't shown any signs of it yet. I thought they wouldn't be as good, but I guess I was forgetting how good they are together.

Pistons starters are playing essentially exactly the same MPG this season as they did throughout the 04/05 season. The Pistons didn't looke worn out in the 05 playoffs.

While the Pistons might not be emphacizing defense quite as much, their offense is much better and more open, 99 PPG vs 93 PPG last season.

    Amen!

I'm not too worried about the coaching change. Due to our fast start, you could say that LB was actually holding us back....at least offensively. Chauncey is now the decision maker on this team. So far he's done a great job. I see no reason to assume that it will not continue.

Currently the starters are playing a little tiny bit less than they did last year. Consistency is the biggest issue w/ the bench, but it should only get better w/ more games. And Hunter should be back in a few weeks for us aswell!!!

It's really frustrating not to just lose every single back to back game played, but to lose them by double digits, and often times to clearly inferior teams. Age has got to be playing a sizeable role here. With Manu out as well, it really changes the dynamic of the team, as he usually gets the guys fired up and makes things happen. This injury/slump thing for TD is really messing us up too. I think once the two of them are healthy we will really start cruising, and nobody has a deeper team than us. And to all you guys ready to hand the le to the Pistons, like Kori said there are like 60 games left. You're crazy if you think that you can predict the outcome of the Finals on 1/4 of regular season games played. At least I know that the Spurs will be up for them on Xmas day... It's not a back to back, and they aren't a scrub team.

Congrads Hornets! I'm happy they won in front of their home crowd. Obviously, I wish it was another team, but way to go Hornets.

As for the Spurs, its still Dec! Im still excited about Feb-June! We are going to be GREAT!

Not sure if this was posted yet but this was under the game notes from the AP recap.

Maybe we see him on this road trip?

San Antonio's Manu Ginobili missed his fourth straight game with a sprained right foot. Before the game, he was able to run up-and-down the length of the court while being timed. The Spurs had been 3-0 in his absence with wins by one point, two points and in overtime.

Havent the Pistons also played kind of an easy schedual??

Not alot of B2bs, alot of east coast cupcakes.
I'll weigh in on this one. No, the Pistons have not played an easy schedule. Before the season started the Pistons said the first 18 games would be the toughest part of the season primarily because 12 of them would be on the road including 2 west coast swings. We finished that at 15-3.
After the road game at Memphis we'll have played 14 of 22 on the road with 8 of those against teams from the western conference.

The good news is that after Memphis we'll play 8 of 9 at home and hopefully keep up the winning ways.

Six BTB's so far with two of the losses coming on the back end of them.

Edit: I see Kori and Jamstone already already clarified this, oh well.

I would hope so. He handed your team the le on a silver platter last year by putting Tayshaun on Timmy in game 7.

    Oh cmon!

The REAL Finals MVP hasnt played in 4 games. As much as I dont like Ginobli, the dude has serious All-Star game. Thats like losing Tayshaun Prince for the Pistons, heck maybe Rip.

    You lost.

Whoopety-doo. Oh noes, my team is the sux, we only 17-5....the Sky is falling!

If the Pistons were 17-5, I wouldnt be ing.

Besides, youre not trying to keep pace with the Eastern Conference either. Youre trying to beat peeps in the West. Who is #1 in the West?

    Oh yeah.
