Well then answer this:
If they arent very good at what they do why arent they replaced?? Why does the league that can choose from very good officials keep ones that arent very good? That doesnt add up... explain why you think this is the case...

you are part of a small group of people who say the officials aren't very good. Like I said before no one is perfect.
people need to admit the refs didn;t cause the spurs to lose pop did.

Also, it isnt the same in all sports. Remember that guy in the NFL who made that horrible call in the playoff game between the Steelers and Colts? The guy who overturned the interception... he no longer officiates for the NFL. He was deactivated at that point. The NFL tries to get better officials and regulates them... why doesnt the NBA??

The NBA doesn't have an endless supply of referees. The same refs some of you say suck are much better than what else there is to choose from.

Well then answer my original question - do you actually think they do a good job?? And I am not in a small group. Owners, Players, Fans, and Media complain about the horrible NBA officiating more than all other sports combined. The NBA even goes so far as to suspend and levy heavy fines against anyone who questions the officials. Remember Joey Porter?? He basically said that the NFL officials were corrupt after the Steelers and Colts game. Did he get suspended or heavily fined?? No. The NFL instead chose to fix the problem and get rid of the bad official. Not that hard if you are a legitimate league which the NBA is not under Stern. I love basketball, but the NBA needs new management and a new direction. They need integrity.
Ok, ill say the officiating wasn't great. BUT, there were bad calls against both teams and therefore no reason to blame the outcome on bad officiating
There are millions of fans who think the NBA officiating is a farse. It's amazing that you're such an NBA officiating defender tonight, i wonder why?
There's definitely no conspiracy or anything like that, it's just incompetence and inconsistency. Some refs let teams play at the end of playoff games, some refs call every little thing. Some refs are intimidated by home crowds, some aren't.
I just don't understand how with all this talk about the film study and work the officials put into it they almost seem to be getting worse. Whatever they're doing doesn't seem to be working.
Wrong again!! The NBA could hire any pick of legitimate college refs. You think college refs wouldnt love to make more money working NBA games? College basketball is officiated much, much better than NBA games. So why not get these guys to do a good job? Because the league doesnt want good refs. They want refs who will do what they want them to do...

The NFL had their best crew at the SB and the officiating in that game was just as controversial as in any NBA game. Pick another sport...
You are gonna tell me that you think the 4th quarter was evenly officiated? You think game 2 was evenly officiated? That is rediculous, and I can no longer take you even semi seriously if you come back with that BS...

Same thing alot of mavs fans said after game 1, that works both ways buddy....
And those refs were punished and the NFL officially apologized for that game. Those refs wont be on the Super Bowl again. See, the NFL actually recognizes when their refs do a bad job and tries like to make sure it doesnt happen again. The NBA keeps letting bad refs get worse and never makes a change. Your argument holds no water here. There is a big difference between the NFL and NBA.

The HUGE difference between NBA refs and any other sports' refs is that the refs in the NBA try to influence the game. Thats why you always have commentators saying stuff like "well thats the way the games been called all night" and "the players need to adjust to the calls" The players should NEVER have to adjust to calls!!!!!! B/C the calls should be consistant, the rules don't fluxuate so why do the refs???
Then you have refs like Bavetta and Joey Crawford who have their heads so much up their own ass, they let their egos get in the way of making the correct calls.
Bottom line is that the refs job is to call the game, not influance it in any way
