Manu is like so open, trailing Tony by only few yards and TP tries to go all the way in with a closing defender all over him. I wonder if Nash or Kidd would not have passed it back to MAnu for the easy 2? TP made the foul shots but why does he work so hard to get the 2 when it was so obvious he should have passed?

Because he's trying to get an and 1. He's confident he'll knock down atleast 2 from the stripe. Plus, Tony totally focuses on the basket when he has an opening which is why he's a top 5 finisher in the league. Tony probably just didn't see Manu and for good enough reason.


however, i did see about a minute or so where Tony did go a little selfish. With Pop though, selfish play by Tony, wreckless play by Manu, and soft play by Tim isn't tolerated for very long.

Parker haters complaining about his passing after he has an nine assist game? Classic.

You can get on him for being a bit passive this game but the only pass he missed was a pass to Barry where he held it for an extra second before passing it. Pop pulled him out and got on him for that mistake. But damn, I don't know what more you guys want from him. For a point guard who doesn't handle the ball nearly as much as other point guards, doesn't play as many minutes as other point guards and doesn't run as many pick-and-rolls as he did the last couple years, he's been getting about as many assists as humanly possible.

The problem is even I have learned to accept this POP want's Tony to shoot when he penetrates..and Tony has never had great court vision, so we have to accept that. Give Tony credit he is improving...last year he would have kept shooting if he wasn't shooting well..this year he is definitely looking for his teammates.

Can he average more assists yes...but that's not what Pop asks of Tony and Tony is known as scoring point guard. So enjoy him for who he is!

Tony seems to be improving year to year - 2 years ago he had the problem of the jumpshots and teams were capitalizing on it. Then he trained like a on that and fixed it. Now they know he can take down those shots. Now it seems he is further developing his passing skills. I don't remember Tony having that many assists per game ever. I think when he finally accomodates his game to a balance between 20+ attempts/night and trying to give them +10 assists, he will be just a machine.

You make an awesome point here. The Mavs next Wed are going to kick the Spurs ass all over the place. I will be at the game with my mavs gear giving Spurs fans because this is one team they cant beat especially in the AT&T American Airlines Center!! Expect Dirk to have 30 plus, Harris to have 20 plus, Stack and Howard to add 18-20 points as well as JET having over 25. Mavs will be the team to hand them their first "home" loss. Keep preaching on that fact brother!!

I think he was smoking something, as he basically said that 5 Mavs players were going to score over 115 pts by themselves.

Actually I look at the Mavs record in San Antonio during the AT&T era especially after game 5 of that 2006 series and it is in our favor. That isnt the Spurs house when the Mavs stop by to kick your asses. It is the Mavs "other home" that happens to be located in San Antonio.

This King23, Fast Dunk, whatever name he is, cracks me up.

He comes into this blog, assumes we're going to lose when we're down double digits, calls us "SIMPLY PATHETIC" on the same night his alleged team loses to Toronto.

Yet he still comes back to talk smack.

After getting swept in the Finals by us you would think he would lay low at least until his team did something of note against us.

Or change his team to Boston, which is what I expected him to do the second Garnett landed there.
