Danny Kanell doesn't think UT should be in CFP, color me surprised. This man has had a hard-on for hating on UT for a while now which I don't know why. I don't think they will get in but after hearing him cry about it I hope they do just so I can hear him short circuit.
Sorry, just don't see how Texas gets in over ND, Bama or Vandy. Even getting in over BYU is a bit of a stretch.
I would not be surprised if committee puts Texas in front of Vandy and Miami on Tuesday. If that happens there could be a slight chance Texas gets in because of the SEC and Big 12 le games. They would need Bama and Cougs to get demolished. I rather have them miss the playoffs because I don't want Texas to get rewarded for their mistakes. That Florida game was inexcusable, regardless if it was the swamp and how much "NFL" talent they have. They need something to build towards for next season and missing the playoffs will benefit them in the long run.

I would put Texas ahead of Miami and Vandy (head-to-head), and ultimately BYU because I expect them to get whooped by Tech again.
The bigger problems for Texas are the ACC champ and G5 automatic bids which are looking like Virginia and Tulane, despite them being ranked lower than everyone else.
The committee would basically have to put Texas above Alabama, Oklahoma or Notre Dame, which would've happened if Alabama and Oklahoma lost yesterday.
Even if Alabama gets beat convincingly by Georgia, not sure it will matter because the committee won't want to punish them for a conference game loss.
I'll add that it's going to suck seeing Texas sitting at home when they will have beaten 25% of the playoff field.
And they'd be favored against several of them on a neutral field.
But...Florida.
More on a narrow playoff path for Texas.
Auerbach from NBC projects the committee moving Texas up to 12 ahead of Miami on Tuesday, which would then have them waiting on the Big XII and SEC championship results.
Part of that logic is the committee wanting a buffer between Notre Dame and Miami due to their Week 1 match-up.
From there it would obviously depend on how impactful those results are for the committee when lined up against the teams on the outside looking in.
