That's a good deal for memphis. Though McLemore has underperformed it's possible there is upside there if he plays in a good system. he's still a young player.

Shabazz could be cool. I didn't know his 3 pt percentage was such garbage. He shot better than Simmons did last year, though I still like Simmons more cuz he's such an insane athlete. Shabazz may shoot better after reuniting with his college girlfriend Kyle Anderson.

Great signing for Memphis at that price. Great team for McLemore to see if he was just on a bad team or if he actually sucks.

    Vince?
He was getting dunked on his face and punked by Kyle Anderson in the playoffs tbh. Think about that for a moment.
    He's done.
Kyle was scoring on the DPOY on route to 20 points. Vince is still fine if the price is reasonable.

ok so long as you recognize what happened I am good.

    Bring on Vince...
I have to say between him and Shabazz Vince is probably better. Old dog, veteranm can shoot better. He is a defensive liability, but so is Shabazz frankly and Shabazz can't pass the ball. Though if they do bring shabazz I am sure Pop will have someone else be the distributor.

I can't remember, how much is the luxury tax? 1 dollar for each dollar over the cap?

Well, like people keep saying here on Spurstalk, we want some of these players, but we don't want to pay them.

Would you guys have taken Millsap for 3 years at that price?

I thougth so too. I think with a system he could flourish... he has never played in a good team. Still young.
Opportunity lost by the spurs... they are still holding out for Jsimms to come back down to earth...
I know you like him, but I will regret if they overpay JSimms. He's going to go back to regular season JSimms, in fact, the weight of that contract could have him doing too much in a bad way.

Good God. What does that look like kicking Klay off the team in a year? Looks like maybe two more years of the super friends. I can't imagine they stay healthy, happy, and motivated.

He sure got paid. Looking at the overall landscape of contracts I don't blame the Spurs for standing pat. The only free agents that were max were Durant, Curry, and Paul. I like Millsap, Hayward, and Lowry, but I want not want them for max money.

Nene, ibaka are the only ones so far. Plus pau has committed
Yeah, after I wrote I saw those two guys. And we know about Pau, even if it's not official. Maybe some more unofficially official? Still looks like bigs weren't the first targets. Looks like the Spurs have one bullet.

Great signing for Memphis. Wanted McLemore on the Spurs. Happy for him though. He can put the toxic Kings time behind him and start over.

J Simms is gonna lose money the longer he waits to be honest. I wouldn't have minded Mclemore over Simmons especially at that price. He has high upside and they are desperate for shooting. He could be the next Green with those players.

I thought I wanted big name free agents but these contracts are horrible. There's maybe 10 guys that deserve super max deals and only one plays on GS. $30 million a year for Milsap? $20 million for Red ? Max for Chris Paul on the downhill? $16 million for an old Iggy that can't space the floor? $30 million for Lowry? McLemore is the only contract I liked and that is because he is such an unknown. Gallinari could be nice but he's crippled. Ditto for Gay. This free agent class sucks.

Has anyone seen a contract they like or wanted this free agency?

I can't tell what RC and Pop are doing at all. I love the young guys, especially Murray, Bertrans, White, and Kyle (yeah I'm one of those people). As it stands, it looks like the Spurs are about to go trot out a bunch of guys between 6'5 and 6'8 minus Mills from 1-4. Center rotation will be LMA/Pau. LMA can eat a if he doesn't want to play the 5. He sucks as a 4 in today's NBA.

The east should be reclassified as the g league next year.

They really should do the seeding route for playoffs with top 16 teams getting in. Its the fair thing to do.

They won't do. Silver probably doesn't want to risk the chance if the cavs getting beat in the first round by one of lower tier western playoff teams.

I remember Silver had a reason why they weren't looking into this very much, but can't quite remember why. Personally, it's what I wish they would do. Some of those EC series are unwatchable.
