News just released that Spurs have signed Zaza Pachulia and hired Bruce Bowen as a special consulting coach to game plan a specialized defensive scheme for Zaza to use against 3 & D shooters. Jason Terry will be coaching general nut-punching but Manu will be excused from those drills.

or... we can just close all kwitter threads.

This is good news for SpursTalk. We can officially stop starting new Kawhi threads in the Spurs forum. He's officially not a Spur any longer.

Threads about Raptors players go in the NBA forum.

    Thanks,

    The Management

Just curious, but does a player passing a physical mean that he is healthy enough to play? I am trying to think of cir stances of when a player was cleared, but couldn't or shouldn't have played. The only one that I can think of is Kyrie Irving when the team knew that surgery was a possibility and cleared him, but later the player needed surgery anyway.

I don't necessarily care about Kawhi anymore. I just started to think about this and what this means exactly. I know teams could push through and accept a trade regardless if a player passes a physical or not. Thanks.

Of course, he did, what I want to see if he can produce at the same level while playing heavy minutes. DDR routinely played over 2800 minutes per season (he dropped to 2700+ once). Kawhi on the other hand played more than 2400 only once in his entire career.

Think about it, can Toronto afford not being the top seed in the east? With a new coach and the pressure to stay ahead of Celtics and Sixers, I can see Nurse playing Kawhi over 3000 minutes next season.

Spurs did not put a lot of mileage on Kawhi. Yet he was done for an entire season. He hasn't played an entire season without being injured.

I suspect that his body is breaking down just like Derek Rose.

    Yay!

Also, is there a setting to where if a person on your ignore list starts a new thread to not be able to see it at all?

    Would be nice.

his leg won't last 3000 minutes

I'll be surprised if he plays all games up to 1 Jan 19

Yes, I agree, 74 is the most games Kawhi ever played. If he averages 35min per game for 74 games that's 2590 minutes, by far the most he is ever played. Would be interesting to see.

His injury was bs. Just had dinner with a good friend of mine whose a doctor. We talked about the Kawhi situation and he just laughed hysterically at Kawhi's injury quad tendinopathy and said that it was bogus. I would say Kawh's body is fine and it will show once the season starts. The only thing that is breaking down is Kawh's brain. His mental health problems could be his downfall later on but we will see.
