I think Durant might actually suck in international play...he's proven to not play at his best whenever the defender is allowed to get physical with him.
In the Olympics, Team USA will neeed all the bigs they can afford to take. Guys like Dwight will regularly be in foul trouble like Duncan was, due to the fact they call a foul on any block attempt if body contact is made with the off arm of the shot blocker. (Duncan regularly got called for his off hand on the hip of the shooter down low, as he blocked the shot up high).
It frustrated Duncan to no end and will do the same to shot blockers like Howard and Chandler.

Drop Mello, pick up Amare
Why would you drop the best scorer in the league.
Drop Blake pick up Amar'e.
Give me a rebounder & 3 point shooter instead of isolation SF
Except Melo does all three and more. He's an underrated passer and defender. He's a walking mismatch against any 3 the other countries have to offer.
Anyways, why state you want Amar'e then say you need a rebounder, that's an oxymoron. Amar'e is there for his athleticism and unguardable offense. Basically a more polished version of Blake.
My ideal USA basketball team:
Paul / Williams
Wade / Rose
James / Melo / Durant
Griffin (Amar'e) / Love / Aldridge
Howard / Chandler
melo always owns asses in international play
need big tough n!ggas who can defend and rebound imho, just throw the big muscles in da paint (no defensive 3sec rule) and dominate the out of the opponents with ease
I'd say Bynum should go in, but his knee will probably explode if they haven't at that point.
a big offensive power would bring a world of benefits to this team tbh, if bynum is healthy and stays so then he'd be a wonderful pick for this team. TC is a great player too but there isn't much point having him in when DH is also on your squad imho
