i hope so too. he definitely has some skills.
I don't know that you could get Marion here except for the price of Howard + Terry, and I don't like that. There's not much on our roster that they would want.

Instead of going out there and overpaying for a bit past their prime "name" player, like they've done oh so many times with Juwan Howard, Nick Van Exel and Jason Kidd, they should use the MLE on young guys with potential like they did with Brandon Bass.
GG needed to get away from his local hometown crew in Houston, they were a bad influence, the Rockets had a chat with him about being a professional, and it seemed to have sunk in.......Dallas may be getting a high lottery talent for very little money.
With Gerald it is all a matter of committment, if ...IF...he is commmitted......he can be awesome......if he hangs around and continues to miss practices and pollute his body, he will be another statistic.

I wouldnt mind splitting it between Diop and Azzibuke or whatever his name is. we gotta get Diop back though, to fix our poor second unit interior defense. i wouldnt mind james jones either, that dude can in shoot. tony allen is a nice athletic guy, but if we get Wright back, and already have Green, i dont see much room for him. either him or wright would be nice. but wright would probably be cheaper, plus he is already somewhat established in our team. id say stay loyal.
I think if they can get 10-12 minutes, 8 points, 6 boards and good hustle and defense out of him, then it's a steal. I think it's too much to expect All-Star results from a guy that was on the street just days ago. I'll curb my enthusiasm until he actually makes the roster. (cue the theme song)
The only guys I like on that list are Diop, Allen, and Azabblulikkibluke. If the Mavs sign that got Matt Barnes I will officially become a Clippers Fan For Life.
we can be the Dallas Cowboys and sign thugs onto our team.
A wise approach concerning Gerald, but the Josh Hamilton reference could be spot on....he is an amazingly talented player, when his mind is right.

Maaaaaaaatt Baaaaaaaaarnes
best case scenario is that Green gets his together and adds a little bulk so that he can play SF. Or play him at SG as long as we have a guy like Azubulkjkljljeike. As long as we have someone new at SF then I'm happy.
Mono, you're free to have some fun in the "what jkidd said about avery" thread. The door is wide open for you.
say what you want about who they sign...
the fact is, on the field, they produce.
yeah and off the field they go to clubs and shoot people
not once they become Cowboys...
By November his vertical should be 76".
Uh...let's not!
With the Rockets luck, Green will probably be have All-Star like games against them. But honestly, if he couldn't make it a month with the Rockets, AND THEN couldn't sign with a single team after that, then there is something wrong with the guy. He has a ton of athletic ability, but he has a low understanding of the game.
But I say, Greene > Green.![]()
I 100% AGREE!
And lest we get too excited about Gerald Green, Ball Don't Lie brings us this:

It sounds like he's got a lot of talent and has super upside, but there's a reason he was available for the vet minimum. Hopefully he can pull himself together.During a Wolves' timeout in the second quarter, Gerald Green spent the entire time well removed from the circular huddle, where, you know, he might glean some information that would improve on his reputation for not knowing where to go in the offensive and defensive sets. Instead Green was conversing with the injured Ratliff near the end of the bench. Twelve seconds after play resumed, Gomes picked up his third foul and with McCants also saddled with three, Sichting sent Green into the game. Thirty eight seconds after that, Green receives a pass just over center court from McCants for his first touch. Kobe and Lakers' rookie Jarvis Crittenton immediately sneak up behind Green and knock the ball from his grasp, resulting in a ruthlessly gorgeous, but rather embarrassing to Green, breakaway slam by Kobe. Two or three years from now, Gerald Green will be back in his old neighborhood, alternately bragging about his NBA career and complaining how he got screwed because nobody gave him a chance to play.
I like it but i would still start Terry at the 2.
For the vet minimum, it's a harmless move.
i dunno. terry seems like a perfect 6th man kind of player. scoring guard that is explosive and can shoot. his scoring abilities can take some pressure off other backups, and lets them have a guy that can bail them out, as he is one of the better "bail out/last second" shooters in the league.
