I have to say i'm liking the clippers as well. not because of baron or brand but because or eric grodon and of course al thornton. those two are going to do well in the coming years. gordon still has to prove himself but i think thornton already has shown that he has what it takes to be a dominating player in this league.

Clips gonna own the Mavs next year. Wouldn't be surprised if they finished 2nd in the Pacific.

Not really. Claiming they'll be better than that pathetic Mavericks squad isn't saying much.

We shall see how good the clips are with no elton brand (as he jets for the money) and then to see baron davis play half the season shooting fadeaway threes and defying Dunleavy (baron hated his son btw)...it will not work, even if elton stays because Don Nelson is the only coach in the league with the mind to let Baron do whatever he wanted (even chose not to play hard D) just to keep him fat and happy. Dunleavy is waaay more structured than that. And he will not allow baron to dribble down and take a fadeaway after fadeaway when he can obviously over power anyone to the bucket but his ego makes him want to shoot hard shots in order to feel manly.

I dunno, there are too many unanswered questions such as how big an affect Avery's coaching had on the team's poor performance and whether J-Ho's decline was an anomaly or a hint at things to come. Not to mention the offseason is not even over yet. But it's certainly possible that they can be contenders.

Two consecutive first round exits and a steady decline in regular season record. Terry, Kidd, Dirk are all a year older. Howard smokes more blunts in the offseason than he shoots jumpshots. I'm sure Carisle is the magical answer.

Everyone on every team is a year older... Dirk is in his prime, Terry still executes his role quite well, J-Ho, who knows what he's doing in his offseason I'm certain you don't either... and Kidd, his age doesn't prevent him from being a great rebounder, great passer, igniting fast breaks, etc... he can't shoot, but he never could... it only causes trouble against quick point guards which is a moot point since quick PG's are a pain for every team.
