Vince Carter is this generation's Shawn Kemp, but I think Kemp in his prime was much better.
One anonymous Eastern Conference scout called Carter "fool's gold." I have to agree. James Posey has probably helped the teams he has been on as much or more than Carter.

Here's another difference: Tim Duncan is worshipped in San Antonio, while Vince is remembered in Toronto as an underachiever, an average playoff performer, and the single most blatant season-tanker in recent memory. If Carter put half the effort into defense that he puts into dunking, he'd be the guy New Jersey would be building around right now, instead of being a team that is trading away the present and praying for the arrival of LeBron in 2010.
