Whedon has recently nixed rumors of a sequel, unfortunately. And even if they did it, it would have to be without Wash. Which would make me sad.

Anyway, Wash dying sucked but I like it as well. It shows that Whedon has vested more into the story than anything else.

I'd like to see what the characters would do against all odds and how River's character further develops. Will she be the key in winning a rebellion?

I really hope Whedon isn't done with the series.

The Niska torture kicked ass and I liked the way Mal pissed of Wash to keep him from dying.

I definitely would like to see how things would have progressed. A sequel would be nice, and I'd definitely be first in line to see it, but it's really unfortunate that the show got cancelled. Whedon was planning on having the series last at least seven years, and no movie is ever going to match that level of development.
