El Chile and Polvo's are good.
San Antonio is TWICE the size of Austin...not five times.
As of the July 1, 2007 estimate (released 10 July 2008):
San Antonio -- 1,328,984 (rank #7)
Austin -- 743,074 (rank #16)
El Chile and Polvo's are good.
What would you say is good Tex Mex in Austin?
I have never been to El Rancho and dont plan on starting. I personally like Serrano's.
chain tex mex? i thought you were from the valley, son.
Yeah Serranos is good too. Like I said though if you move to the southside you have to go to First Wok. If any of you guys live in Austin and haven't tried it then give it a shot. It is not expensive and the pot stickers and Lo Mein is the Shizznit
I am and nothing compares to what we have over there. I havent found anything in Austin that is good especially up North. Any recommendations im willing to take the pepsi challenge any day? La Tapatilla up north off 183 and Anderson mill is some good but its not Tex Mex. Its closer to authentic Mexican and damn good at that.
Where is it?
la tapatilla is good, i have been there. check out el chile and polvo's. polvo's is more central american but it's damn good and there are always lots of hotties.
Where are they? I ate at this one expensive place in central Austin that was central american and it was damn good. I had a friend that was a waiter there but I forget the name.
that was probably fonda san miguel, which is good. El Chile is on Manor a block or so short of Hoover's, and Polvos is on South First.
It's on First and Stassney. http://www.geocities.com/firstwok2001/
Yeah thats it. Fonda was damn good but I think too pricey. Ok cool im going to try those places out.
fonda san miguel also has a $35 brunch on Sundays, it's awesome. All those tables in the middle are full of food.
Really like pretty much all you can eat? Don't you live in that area?
$35?! For brunch? Y'all must be ballas
Trust me for that place its cheap hahahah. Nah its not that expensive there but it isnt cheap. ON a date you could easily run up a bill over 100.
Glad I'm married. Don't date anymore
Did any of ya'll go to highschool there in Austin?
I'm not sure yet, since my employer is providing an apartment for me, rather than moving to a place of my choosing.
