Wasn't there a fairly argumentative thread about this quite awhile back?![]()
Ash let me go over there and give you a lesson in Road Rage. It will change your life forever.
Yes and I was just wondering if it needed to be bumped. People gots to learn.
No, it isn't a merging lane. However, people treat as though it is one.
It's a right turn only lane. Sometimes people don't even yield, they just move on over. No signal, nothing. If they'd yield, I wouldn't have an issue with it, but they don't. They feel as though they have the right-way.
The Sunday traffic jams drive me nuts when I work downtown. Fortunately, they're making Cesar Chavez two-way all the way between 35 and MoPac.
I'm about a decade removed from my music collector days.Chump, you ever go to the austin record conventions? one coming up 10/4.
I've been going most years, since they started back in... 1980 ??
Yeah, aren't you firmly in the "i'll merge when I want to" camp? I vaguely remember this. Why, oh why do I remember such useless things?
I wouldn't put it in those words. That makes it sound like I'm out for me when in reality I'm looking out for all of our best interests.
I'm in the "everyone should merge closer to the actual merge point" camp... also known as the "don't merge half a mile before the merge point and then block people from going around or merging ahead of you because that's what makes this take longer" camp.
Yesterday around 4:45pm I was dropping of a script at Walgreen's and saw 2 police with people pulled over and another one pulled of into the street beside Jack-In-The-Box looking for the next victim. It looked like they were going after the people who were sneaking through the yellow lights on Northbound 281.
Traffic at the corner of Huebner & Fredericksburg Road in the AM sucks...
Can they ticket you for going through a yellow light? I try to slow to a stop at them but have had certain passengers* in the car with me encourage me to go through them.
*Name starts with a B and ends with an O.![]()
I made the mistake of taking Fredrickburg all the way home from Woodlawn one day and it was smooth sailing until I hit Huebner. I was like "holy cow!" It is particularly bad there. Thank God I worked odd hours when I worked down there.
You know when I lived in DC I could never understand why no one ever saw the yield signs at on ramps and off ramps. I asked 5 different people one day why that was and they all said, "Because yield means merge".![]()
