This lady or gentleman speaks the truth.
and McCain's heroism.
This lady or gentleman speaks the truth.
She'll be all over McCain's nut sack tonight.
First off, the conventions are nothing but cheerleader processions intent on building image. So watching these fluff pieces put out by the resident egos in the RNC/DNC are really just an opportunity for the rational to get an idea what they sound like or for the zealous to get their required party hard-on.
With that said...
I was underwhelmed. Im not a startegist of any sort (really?), but that was as bland as bland can be. Ive seen more engaging PowerPoint presentations on future plant production schedules. Im not kidding.
I cant believe I stayed up for that. Much like after the DNC, Ill skip the post game of this one too. Pulling any party sucker who walks by to tell me how so-and-so just knocked it out of the park (when clearly they didnt), or some other Americana reference drivel is reserved for those who a) are masochists or b) to fulfill their party-mandated Self Gratification Session.
*yawn*
Nothing special. Conservatives have been deprived of fire for the last 8 ing years and she barely hints at big government/government dependence/BIG PICTURE.
It was solid.
She better have her on check for these debates/interviews.
Wow. How disappointing. I was hoping to be somewhat convinced of her ability to assume the presidency when McCain kicks it, but her whole speech was nothing but an attack on Obama. A witty, sarcastic, possibly effective attack, but nothing more.
This was her big opportunity to allay any fears Americans might have over her inexperience and she did NOT deliver.
I'm curious to see how the polls shift in accordance to her attacks.
And I'm sure one rah rah speech would have done that
Only the one, The Obama, can do that.Silence fears of inexperience from a rah rah speech.

What can I say?
Liberals go by who has the best "Hollywood fluff."
Conservatives go by who has the best facts.
As pure political theater, she freaking nailed it.
But it's just one speech on one night. Does it resonate with the entire American populace? I'm not entirely sure it does, across the board (and aisle).
My belief is the Dems absoultely slaughter the Repubs in the Congressional and Senatorial elections this year, but the Repubs retain the White House.
Standoff and gridlock ensues.
If Palin did not have big naturals and was not attractive in the face, she'd be finished after a speech like this. All those little sarcastic remarks and her air of confidence would have led to bashing exactly like Hillary received when she was the frontrunner and confident and not afraid to bite back. She was perceived as y, arrogant, etc.
This Palin chick's attractiveness is going to give her an edge unlike any other witnessed in high level american politics.
I think it was an impossible task. You can't give a wonky speech in this forum and that's really the only way to show political depth.
Good take. She was y. But because everyone wants to nail her, she's going to not get called on it.
McCain got his attack dog.
She just made this a very, very tight race.
Just me Joe, or does her speech (impact) remind you of one given about four years ago by an unknown from Illinois?
BTW, you did call it 4 years ago.
How? By touching on no real issues and just bashing Obama? Yeah, total tight race going on.
The debates are going to expose her. Unless Bush's former speech writers are going to write her answers like they wrote her speech tonight...![]()
Did he have the former Bush speech writers writing his speech?
No kidding, Biden has been Xeroxing his responses for years.
I sincerely doubt it.
*rimshot*
I'll be here all week. Try the veal.
So she needed GW's writers to make all those repubs wet their pants... sad.![]()
And she's still going to get exposed and just murdered in the debates.
Let's hope she sticks to her own words and doesn't pull the "woman" card.
Just rereading the speech. She absolutely nailed those snarky lines. I have a feeling a lot of everyday women will be turned off by this. Hillary's appeal was that she was tough and qualified for the the presidency. When she started saying those contrived lines like "change you can Xerox" is when she turned off a lot of voters.
