Stoudamire is another one of those too short for the NBA shooting guards. What I like about him is is fearlessness. I'll be interested to see how he works in the Spurs system. He handles the ball well enough. You can't call him a point guard...kind of in the same vein as Hill. But, to be honest, I'd take Stoudamire over Hill at this point from what little I've seen and know of Hill.

Not sure either really is going to be more than a bit player for this team though.

Sean Elliott should be happy with this signing.

I'm not trying to hate, but that has got to be by far one of the most HOMERISTIC articles I have ever read.

So now a midget SG who is stuck in a undersized PGs body = 3 players...

Sounds like a guy that's trying to cover up a extremely lackluster offseason.....but that's just a outsiders view.

If the guy is healthy its a nice pick up, spurs almost drafted him in the first round in 05 but like Ians upside more. He is very similar to Pargo and with a true big man on the floor he should see 40+% 3fg.

He would allow us to go small or the will play him with Mason and let Mason be the ball handler. I think he will fit in nice in our motion offense.

If Ian gives us good mins and we can get Hill or stoudamire and Mason to give us some scoring I think the Spurs would have to be very pleased with thier off season.

uh, not really pal......trust me I'm not crapping my undies over Salim Stoudamire. ....we have a player like him on the bench...his name is Aaron Brooks

I'm just being real with you and giving you a outsiders look into the article as I'm sure with the Spurs being pretty much the only team in town there are alot of local writers blowing hot air up y'all's skirts.

Post this article on a national bball message board like ISHs and they'll tell you the same thing......extremley homeristic. I mean, I'm sure the Spur koolaid has been rather tasty over the last couple of years, but c'mon, does that guy work for the Spurs FO or what.

What the Spurs need are role players and Salim could fit into that role nicely. He will get open shots when in the game with Duncan and since he has probably been hoping for a change after not gettting many chances in Atlanta, he may have something to prove. We'll see how he does in training camp. I'm one of those people that won't make any judgements until I get a chance to see what he can do once he gets on the court. There are limited spots available on this team, so he will have to be pretty impressive to make the roster.
