When I was in Austin I used to be part of a message board that was close and we had GTG's all the time. Well we lost one of the members to cancer and I know how much it sucks. It's funny how before that I used to laugh and make fun of all the "chat room" geeks and stuff but you really do get to know people. That really sucks.

I can't believe he passed away just like that, i thought cancer was the progressive type of disease where u slowly lose ur defenses and get hospitalized and then the inevitable happens. you can't just drop dead from cancer can ya ?
He didn't just "drop dead". He had been sick for a while now.

This is very hard news to absorb. It seems like just yesterday him and his friends dropped me off at Wurzbach and fredericksburg road to walk home after the last ST gtg he went to.

It was better that way his friends had to much to drink and I was kinda not liking having to ride in the bed of that truck that was swerving all over the road.

I hope his family is ok with the finances maybe a paypal donate icon could help. If anyone is going to the funeral and wants to give me a ride PM me.

The sad part about this news, it will not stop SR for one second from sending him PMs to go back and post at their site.

(before you criticize me for tasteless humor, if you knew the Flo like I did you would know he would have wanted me to say that)

    RIP Flo!
your graphics were some of the best on the net!

    CJ was a great friend.

He fought like a lion, some of us can testify that.

    He had a beautiful daughter.

And he will be greatly missed by his friends, his Internet brotherhood.

    RIP my brother.

I hope someone who knew him very well can post some info. Date of birth or favorite music etc...I would like to know this man in great detail, and i would ask the same if anyone else who went to a gtg or posted on a spurs forum had passed also. We need to all make a huge web card so all can sign it and the family can maybe print it out to have by his side. or bad idea?

Great idea and not just because your my other screen name.

someone make a topic we can all sign and the family can download it.
or Slomo can make it but we can all show support.

many of the posters don't live in San Antonio and may want to be there in spirit.

I'm so heartbroken over this. I knew it was coming but didn't want to hear it. I was unprepared. I haven't stopped crying. When he told me he was having treatments again I assumed he would get better. He and I were very close, and he was an amazing person. We spent alot of time together this past year and it hurts so much knowing I won't have those moments ever again. He was always so full of life and ideas and Smackie Chan is right, he would have found that comment he made about SR amusing. He loved the spotlight, and if you remember the board over there, he was always coming up with something different. He would have loved having a thread about him, but I wish it was under different cir stances. The second GTG I ever went to was because he kept telling me to go and he made a video about it. Those of you like LS might remember it.

He was talented, and smart, and funny, and unique. I never met anyone like him. He fought for the better part of 3 years with cancer and yet he always kept a smile on his face. He had a precious little girl who I know was blessed to have him as her father. I can't describe what I'm feeling right now. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
I miss and love you very much CJ. I'll never forget what you brought into my life. Rest peacefully pumpkin. I can't wait to see you again one day.

That Jason Kidd can lead a team to a championship is a theory, that Tony Parker can lead a team to one is a fact. - The Flo 2003

Awesome quote. The final word on the Kidd to SA debate.

That's about the extent to which I knew him, but that was a truly memorable quote. It popped into my head the second I saw his name mentioned.

Yeah that is terrible. 28 is really young. That just goes to show that you have to treat each day as possibly your last....
