Youre right, accusing a guy shooting a jump shot of tripping you bc youre in the middle of controversy is a whiny little . Bowen making that statement reminds me of the Seinfeld episode of the loogie, the one where the spit paused, in mid air mind you, and proceeded to make a left turn.

Bowen is the ..that's the bottom line. I cringe every time he's on the court when he's gaurding the other elite players. Pop and Bowen know exactly what to do in this situation...bait and disrupt the other players with cheap shots, clutching, and grabbing. Oh, he also lunges under a shooter possibly picking up a foul, but having the other player land on his feet, potentially hurting their ankle. Of course spurs fans love this...as if Bowen is out...as long as he takes out the other teams elite player...it's a fair trade...yeah right. I'm Canadian so I watch a lot of hockey...there's a player on each team that does what Bowen does..and he's called a goon. Oh, and if said Goon starts with the elite players...well let's say that he'll think twice before doing it the next time. That's the difference in the NBA, Bowen is a hard nose defender..what he makes up in talent, quickness and poise, he brings bull plays that hurt and potentially injure the other players. I've seen it too many times....Oh, but Bowen just puts out his hands in protest.."What did I do"...thanks Bowen...Carter was going off...so what does Pop do....get Bowen to draw another T on Carter...too bad Carter's such a that he bought it...but that's the game...Spurs win.

I've noticed the league taking account of Bowen's so-called dirty play.

Let's see, last 3 1/2 seasons (all in San Antonio), Bruce Bowen has . . . well . . . uh . . . wait this can't be right . . . well, he has, um, not been suspended by the NBA at any point in time. You'd think that if he was so consistently "dirty" that he'd draw a suspension or two somewhere along the way. Clearly, the league is concerned with the guy's dirty play.

I'm shocked to find that, with Medvedenko's outstanding prosecutorial summation of the dangers of Bowen, I cannot find a single flagrant two foul that Bowen has ever been assessed. Surely this is a mistake.

I haven't called him dirty once...I just don't like his game....I would love him if he was on my team....but I see the that he gets away with...and it's sad...as his body starts to breakdown...you'll see his defensive "techniques" increase. Look the point is this...Carter was going off...so let's see if I can get him out of the game. Is it right...not if you're a Nets fan...but if you're the spurs you love it. If I was a Net player...I would take a suspension and let Bowen no what's up.

Being a little disingenuous aren't we Medvedenko. You said Bowen was a goon. Fortson is a goon. Madsen is a goon. These are guys by their play, that I fear injury to Spurs players from every time they're on the floor together and these guys have a record to prove it. With Bowen it's just a bunch of pansies whining because they don't get to push off, clear out unimpeded, and coaches and GMs thinking if they complain enough the refs might give them an edge.

I'm very happy this has happened. This will give Bowen the opportunity of being publically vindicated by the NBA. Without this kind of further analysis, most NBA fans would have accepted VC's accusations without any skepticism... Now they will be forced to reconsider once the NBA finds there was no wrongdoing on Bowen's part.

Bowen should not be allowed to use his powers of mind control to force other players in confronting him and there by picking up technical fouls or ejections. Mind control has no place on the baskteball court.

Being a hockey fan Med, you should know the word "chippy" Bowen is chippy. He doesn't lay people out or slam you to the floor a'la Shaq but he is an irritant. He is going to stretch the rules as far as he can without breaking them, much lot a lot of players in the NBA. One thing Bowen doesn't do, which again as a hockey fan you should apprieciate, is . He leaves it all on the court. In hockey you keep it on the ice...well, that is when they are on the ice.

Anyways...Bowen is chippy, I would love him on my team...I just think he needs to get laid out a few times in a game to keep him honest. I have no problem with hard fouls...I do with a player consistenly trying to bait you for T's. Like I said earlier...I would take Bowen for Carter any day if I was a spurs fan....He's got a defined role...you don't see Duncan or Parker acting like that.

You must have never watched a Spurs game. He and MAnu frequently get knocked ass over teacup by picks, often moving with shoulders lowered. If Vincey played D and got hit with a few of those he'd probably have a nervous breakdown.

Ok even if it was a foul..... who the files greivances over missed foul calls? If every coach did that the NBA wouldnt have the money to employ people to respond to all the complaints.

I think this greivance is something more than about one foul call. If they get enough folks stirred up about Bowen being a 'dirty' player, then he's going to get a lot more foul calls as the officials are going to be looking at him closer.

This will reduce his effectiveness on defense over the long haul--and you can bet that our rivals in the West and the East coast elites want to do just that.
