Probably because the thought of McCain or Palin in power is enough to make most people jumpy...
Relief, thank God Bush is gone and Palin is far, far, far from any kind of presidential decisions
Joy, Maybe pop a bottle of champagne and toast
Party like W on a Saturday night
he was.
I thought it was pretty clear
Probably because the thought of McCain or Palin in power is enough to make most people jumpy...
I'm just wonderin' what you're talking about.
Eh, it sounded like one of those usual, "Liberals/progressives are dumb/brainwashed by the media/Daily Show/Colbert Report/Olbermann." etc comments. If Democrats are going to be made fun of, I'd at least like to see it in a creative, funny and original way.
Fair enough.
I'm also going to be watching with my daughters so they will witness history in the making.

...well?
I keep arguing that we don't need the sarcasm blue here and some of you keep proving me wrong.

Who can get satire/sarcasm nowadays? Honestly, you could post that Sarah Palin said that the President is in charge of national banking and I wouldn't be surprised.
Ha. Yeah, I guess this campaign has thrown off the sarcasm meters.
I'll probably celebrate by praying to Mecca, reading my copy of the Socialist Worker News, making some bombs (and being unrepentant in doing so), ghost writing another biography, not saluting the flag or wearing a flag pin, telling people that I am finally proud of my country, spreading some wealth, receiving unnecessary free health care, and getting the Mark of the Beast tattooed on my forehead.

your blue text.
I'll do nothing different than any other election year. Watch the electoral map like a fatman in a doughnut factory. Then watch the concession speech and the victory speech.
Bye-bye, Bush. Don't let the door...
get high and look at all the pretty blue colors in the map
DR bringing the truth once again....
I will drink a toast to our country.
We are the most diverse, open-minded civilization to ever exist, and tonight's historic election will be a testament to that. The peaceful transfer of power in 85 +/- days will be another proud moment. We are a true democracy; flaws, warts, shortcomings and all - but, ultimately, we respect the rule of law, and the decision of the majority.
I will watch the Senate returns with great attention, praying that Republicans hold onto 42 seats.
Hear hear. To the first paragraph anyways lol.
And honestly, even if Dems get to 60, they get to 60 with Lieberman, barring a ridiculously unimagined landslide. Lieberman isn't a Dem.
One of the things I admire the most about American culture![]()
I'm glad to see that I've come up short in my effort to shed my political/philosophical ambiguity.
Well said.

Barack Obama's campaign is preparing for a celebration on the streets of Chicago, as workers erect the set for what the Illinois senator hopes will be his historic victory speech after polls close Tuesday night.
Obama and John McCain are both stumping hard in the final run-up to Election Day, with the Republican nominee hitting seven swing states Monday and the Democratic nominee focusing on three Southern states he hope to turn blue -- Florida, North Carolina and Virginia.
Polls suggest the race is Obama's to lose. And he has already set the stage for an Election Night rally that could put his Denver nomination acceptance speech showing to shame.
Chicago Mayor Richard Daley has estimated 1 million people will show up for Obama Tuesday night.
The victory, or concession, speech will be held in Grant Park, which customarily hosts the rock mega-concert Lollapalooza. But Daley has said the crowds will probably spill out into the streets.
"The mayor's not going to tell anybody not to come to this celebration," Daley said, according to the Chicago Tribune. "It's a historic event. If they want to be there, they should."
The Grant Park event will be free and open to the public.
A huge stage is being constructed in Grant Park, where Obama hopes to declare victory before a cheering throng that could dwarf the one at the Democratic convention. "Only" 80,000 fans were in attendance that night.
As for McCain, he's holding his election night festivities at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, which customarily hosts weddings and business retreats.
McCain -- and Obama himself -- are warning the Democrat's supporters not to get ahead of themselves.
McCain says he savors being the underdog so close to Election Day, and for weeks he has accused Obama of "measuring the drapes" and counting him out.
The Obama campaign brushes off criticism that the Illinois senator is being presumptuous.
"Don't believe for a second this election's over," Obama said Monday in Jacksonville, Fla. "This is going to be close all across the country."
Drink a few beers, have some popcorn, watch some people destroy their own neighborhoods.
