I was impressed with Tolliver tonight, he had a nice release on his jumper and seemed willing to help in the paint (defense and rebounding). Also, I liked that, when he was open, he just took the shot and didn't turn the possession into a passing drill...

Tolliver looked damn good. Better than anything I've ever seen out of Bonner. Those two entry passes into Duncan showed off his BB intelligence. If he can get his shot down consistently, Bonner can collect splinters from here on out or until the Spurs can unload his ass.

Even though we lost this one, and with more losses likely on the horizon in the short term, I can live with seeing the hustle, determination and hunger from the young guys.

I agree completely...in fact...I have been saying these things about Tolliver since the beginning. A lot of people were saying that he was no better than Bonner and I had trouble understanding that. What I saw on the court was a good hustle player that made smart decisions with the ball when he played within the offense.

I think the biggest problem was that everyone concentrated so much on shooting not being that great that they ignored the other qualities that he brought to the table. As long as he takes good shots in rhythm and continues to do what he did last night he will be solid addition to this front line.

On other thing about Tolliver, is it me or does he look to be at least about 35 years old?

What did my boy do when he first got on the court? He faked jacking up a 3 like most of our players do and shoot. He then finds Timmy open for a layup. AT was the only player I saw through out the Summer I knew could play for our team. He made me proud when he passes that ball instead of jacking up that 3. Living from beyond the arc is a slow death in this league.

I honestly think they ONLY team that would take Bonner is the Raptors. Maybe Bonner and one of our 2nd rounders for Humphries?

When I saw that brillaint pass by Tolliver, I was immediately reminded of a "bone-headed" play that didn't get made by Bonner in the season opener against Dallas. Duncan got behind the Dallas defense in transition and was wide open underneath the basket, calling for the ball. Instead Bonner, who had just received a pass, was setting his feet to shoot a three. He either didn't see Duncan or couldn't react fast enough to make the pass. Again Duncan was WIDE OPEN. Instead, Bonner proceeded to clang the shot off the rim. I cursed him then and now. Good luck picking out your splinters.

Atoll was great tonight. I really like Bonner though, and I think I'd like him even more on a different team....

that should be the way spurs' offense go for now... hit TD in the middle for an easy deuce. but the other guys on the floor have to show they can hit jumpers. ATol seems to grasp that idea very well.
