Mason did try to penetrate to the basket on several occasions, but ended up turning the ball over. Not one of his better games to be sure. Seems like he was doing much better coming off the bench, ever since he was inserted into the starting lineup he's been sucking.
I said that all along. Sometimes the pressure of having to make points as a starter is harder todo then coming off the bench. And with him not really knowing his way around, Id expect some off games.

I'll add in that Mason has been getting some of his foul shots only because he has been assigned as the "designated technical foul shooter", which usually happens a couple times a game it seems, esp the defensive 3 second rule the refs like to call lately.
excellent points that are overlooked in the stats.

Very true, except that in the article it brings up his 2-10 shooting in the PAST TWO GAMES, not me. But does not change the facts of what I said.
Ah, I didn't realize he shot 2-10 against the Knicks, too. He got to the line and, like I said, played very good defense in that game. His low shooting percentage is irrelevant.

I agree with you, and he did have a poor game against the Bucks. I just feel that he has done way more good than bad so far and it is not fair to rip him, no biggie!

Nobody making millions of dollars is going to be immune from a ripping, particularly if I know they can play better. I've been ripping Duncan for his mistakes, and NOBODY has been better for the Spurs. It's not particularly fair to rip Vaughn when he played better than a lot of guys, but he gets ripped anyway. At least Mason deserves it.

As I've said, Mason's been a great addition, but he shouldn't be getting the lion's share of point guard minutes, especially when he's not shooting, not making good decisions with the ball, and not defending. After one good defensive game, it only took a couple of made jumpshots to turn Pop back into Paul Westhead and bench the one guy on the roster that was going aggressively into the paint.
