Oh yes, last season. When Beno was in a contract year.
Right.
No, what I do is I look at Jacque Vaughn's profile on NBA.com and have a good laugh. Then, I look at Beno's and see 13 and 4 to go along with 3 boards last season in 32 minutes, shooting 46% and 39% from 3.
Oh yes, last season. When Beno was in a contract year.
Right.
Well, I was expecting Anthony Carter.
No. When he got sufficient playing time. AKA more than 10 minutes per game.
So are you arguing Beno not getting sufficient playing time was entirely on the coaching staff, and had nothing to do with Beno being out of shape his last season with the Spurs?
It had everything to do with the head coach, who does not know how to develop players, yes.
So it's Popovich's fault Beno did not physically take care of himself and showed up that season out of shape.

Being out of shape is overrated. If you can play, you can play. Getting back into shape happens rather quickly, especially at the NBA level. Maybe if he got more run on the court he'd keep himself in shape a bit more.
Doesn't really matter, because Sacramento is reaping the benefits of San Antonio's ty, overrated front office/coaching staff now. Matter of fact, the only coach that deserves praise on this staff is Chip, for improving Tim's free throw shooting last season, and giving Parker a respectable jump shot.
Using that argument, there's no excuse for Beno letting himself go out of shape.
You don't need NBA game minutes to keep in shape.
Trying to blame the coaching staff and front office for that happening is frankly ridiculous.
Yo spursupremacist, your right as can be. anakha is clueless. anakha is always clueless.
If that were the case, then the whole board is clueless.

As usual, you have no idea what you're talking about.
i thought u were talking about jv cuz of the word "old"
Not really. His stats in Sacramento are the same per minute as they were in SA.

He hasn't become a better player....he's just getting more minutes. I still blame Pop for not cultivating Beno. The kid has talent. Not Tony Parker talent, but definitely more than Jacque Vaughn.
I would have liked Beno to work out no doubt, but for some reason Pop ran out of patience. I don't honestly know if it was Beno's fault or Pop just not liking him for some reason. I think Beno had more to do with it. Pop actually gave that dude a lot of time to develop and he was always injured.
Some guys fit some places, some guys don't. Bruce Bowen couldn't hold on to a roster spot with a few clubs before landing here. Beno had talent but he was most definitely not one of Pop's kind of guys.
It's only because there's no pressure on him now. The Kings aren't going anywhere. Fact is the guy sucks ass under pressure on a winning team. He couldn't hack it in Pop's system.
Perfectly put. +1
Beno has more talent than Tony Parker, but he's a lazy turd, and he has no will to win or competetive spirit. He's mentally weak, he's a pampered crybaby and he will never improve his game. I wish the Spurs could have gotten something more for him, or at least not picked up his ing option, but he was NEVER going to be the type of guy who did well as a Spur, and the only contribution he made to either championship when he was here was by keeping his mouth shut and collecting his paychecks.
I miss Beno.
I definitely miss this Beno--

I think the Spurs' version of Beno could actually eat that version.
Wait, that son of a can hover? Where the was that useful skill in the 05 Finals?
Taco Cabana.
Beno is that slim?![]()
Wait, there was a time when Beno was fat?
