The Kings aren't going anywhere.
that city would more than likely be St Louis.
Or Anaheim.
Dont know where else they could go.
The Kings aren't going anywhere.
Or Vegas.... maybe San Diego.... maybe Kanasa...
Vegas would be shot down, Stern isn't keen on a team there.
San Diego doesn't have the facilities.
St Louis has a 17 thousand seat arena, and nothin goin on in the winter.
The Saavis Center would easily be upgraded for the Maloofs, or Bill Lawrie if he chooses to buy the Kings.
Well it will all be over tomorrow, I personally enjoy it even though the Spurs usually do nothing....
Didn't Kansas just build anew 18,000 or 19,000 seat arena?
How about we give New Orleans two NBA teams... their fans are AAAwesome!
I think the same way. It's fun to speculate even though usually nothing happens.Well it will all be over tomorrow, I personally enjoy it even though the Spurs usually do nothing....
This will go down about the Same time the
Rasho for Erick Dampier trade goes down.
And the Mercer for Sura trade.
The Maloof boys are big in Vegas. You can bet your ass they'd love to move the team there.
They would, and they have talked to Stern about it.
But supposedly Stern has a bug up his ass about no teams in Vegas.
Sure put a team in the Phillapeans before Vegas that makes sense Stern.
I think its silly. Theres minor league teams in Vegas and they work just fine.
After the Motown Meltdown..there's no way I think a team gets moved to Sin City, after that fiasco the NBA is trying to clean up it's image. The last thing it wants is a team in a city where gambling and pros ution run rampant.
Vegas will get an NBA team before any other major league 'chise sets up shop. What they will do is suspend betting on whatever team moves there... the mayor of LV has said as much. I'm almost surprised that the MLB Devil Rays haven't relocated there yet.
Fastest growing population, money, and hoops fans to boot. Someone, if not the Kings, will be there within 5 years.
I think an NBA team in Vegas would be a disaster (I'm not saying it wouldn't happen). Imagine all the broke players on that team .. spending all their money on gambling and ho's.

If a major pro sport wanted to be there, they would. There's a reason they're not knocking on Vegas' door to be welcomed in.
True that....although, I'd definitely be up for a road trip GTG.![]()
It's far more likely that a team will relocate there rather than Vegas be granted an expansion franchise. The Kings are at the top of the list.
From what I've heard, the Maloofs were ready to pay for the reloc themselves, including a new arena, if the league would let them move the Kings to LV. Stern has repeatedly said no way. It used to be that ITT-Sheraton owned Caesar's Palace along with Madison Square Garden. They also owned the Knicks and the (NHL) Rangers. People couldn't bet on either at CP. Then again, Nevada law did change to allow wagers on UNLV and Nevada-Reno sports, so I guess maybe gambling on a Vegas NBA team might be allowed. They would definitely make $$$, for sure.
I would never play cards with Pop, he can bluff and has the poker face from , for all we know Pop is trading away half the team as we speak, or not....
Then why hasn't it happen already?
Las Vegas has been the fastest growing sprawlzille for awhile now. Had a lot of money for awhile too.
Yet a NBA (Memphis,New Orleans), MLB (Expos), NHL (whoever) nor a NFL (Rams, Jags, Panthers) team has never seriously talked about moving their.
Hmm... wonder why?
Kansas, St Louis, San Diego, San Fran, and probably Disney World... I mean Anahiem will all get a pro sport before Vegas.
Writer- that's becuase nobody has taken the plunge. Someone will relo there, and then plenty will follow suit. The deal is that noone has sacked up and done so yet.
Because it's a stupid move. First of all.
No commish would allow it.
If there was something to gain ina relocation or new fran. a sport team would have "acked up" a long time a ago. Because no pro sport is dumb enough to turn down sure money.
There will be a pro team in Las Vegas within five years. Guaranteed. There is too much money to be made.
Writer do you have any knowledge of anything outside of SA?
The Maloof brothers (owners of the Kings) own the Palms Hotel, probably one of the hottest hotel/club properties in all of Vegas.
They have ties to Vegas like no other ownership group before them, and are willing to get it done.
If Bob Irsay will load up Mayflower moving vans and move in the dark of night to Indianapolis, someone will do the same for Vegas. Book it.
Nah really. I had no idea George Maloof (one of the four brothers) owned the Palm... you can't watch any damn entertainment show without them mentioning the Palm and the Ghost bar and the real world room. I know a lot more about what happens outside this city then you think and that you know for yourself.
And again.
The Maloofs have wanted to move the team there for a long time, it's no secret. It's also no secret that NBA commish David Stern has repeatedly said what most women say to you. No. And as you have become familiar with, no means no.
