So let me get this correct. Someone tosses an old smelly shoe at bush and he moves out of the way like a young boxer in the ring, but when our nation is under attack, he sits a classroom and reads a book?
A DAMNING COMMENT ON OUR POLITICAL DISCOURSE:
Indeed.“The single best thing about the election of Obama,” he says, “may be that we now have a chance to view the terror threat without the distorting lens of Bush hatred.”
So let me get this correct. Someone tosses an old smelly shoe at bush and he moves out of the way like a young boxer in the ring, but when our nation is under attack, he sits a classroom and reads a book?
He was sending a message. Most everybody got it. Obviously you didn't.
That he was upset? No, I got it. What's your point?
My understanding is this particular "Journalist" was recently released after being kidnapped and beaten or tortured for a number of weeks. It could be he blames his kidnapping on Bush, or the war, or some other iteration of the argument that puts the blame on our President. I get that. He's the hero of Keith Olbermans and Helen Thomases the world over. I get it.
What you don't get is that there were other Iraqis in the room that don't share his sentiment. In fact, he was outnumbered by quite a bit.
Here's another important point you're missing:
Roger Simon:
Indeed.“But more importantly and more apposite to today’s event was that other, oft forgotten, reason Bush went to war in Iraq - that the only way to bring true peace to the Middle East would be through democracy. He wanted to spread the democratic system preemptively. A lot of people have sneered at that idea lately, but while they were sneering Iraq has inched forward toward a democracy. It’s even turning into a (somewhat) decent place to live. That buffoon-like shoe chucker - his name is Muntazer al-Zaidi from Al-Baghdadia channel which broadcasts from Cairo - proved it. No matter what happens to al-Zaidi now (and it won’t be much if anything), it will be nothing like what would have happened to him if he had hurled a shoe at the president during the previous Iraqi administration of Saddam Hussein.”
That's exactly what I said in my first post. I guess there's a reason I'm not a journalist. No matter what happens to al-Zaidi now (and it won’t be much if anything), it will be nothing like what would have happened to him if he had hurled a shoe at the president during the previous Iraqi administration of Saddam Hussein.”
...forgotten because Bush never brought it up until after the invasion.that other, oft forgotten, reason Bush went to war in Iraq
WMDs.
Newkular weapons.
Mushroom clouds.
How many journalists that side with Al Sadr you think were at that news conference? We paid off entire tribes, how much you think it cost to pay off a few journalists? Please. If there's anything in this incident that's embarrassing is the poor job done by the secret service to screen out this guy out of the news conference. Or do you think just any journalist walks into these news conferences? Don't be naive.
It's official, we went to war because George W. Bush is a nicer guy than Saddam Hussein.
At least one.
Shrub needs to get used to it. There'll probably be a few clogs chucked his way on his book tour and tortured speaking tours.
They can't foresee every possiblity. Rest assured, no shoes at Obama press conferences.
sig worthy![]()
too bad it wasn't a bullet
.
You're a deeply hurt idiot. Stay out of politics, downs people have to much anger to discuss such things.
Are you related to ducks?
One stupid question deserves another.
Are you for presidential assinations?
That was some pretty damn fast reflexes.
Bush is a better athlete than Obama.

Too bad the Iraqi did not have the other shoe in his left hand ready to go. He would have got him.
That dude missed point blank.
Too bad you can't say that for sure. Not only does poll after poll say that the Iraqi people want us out of their country, they also have plenty of reason to hate us.
For instance... Abu Gahrib, Blackwater shooting spree, American soldiers rape 15 y/o and kill family, 130,000 + have died since the invasion, rendition, Gitmo, etc.
Somehow, after all of that, I have a feeling the Iraqis are somewhat justified in not being to fond of mr. Bush.
