Malik's got Jesus, and also Dave on speed dial. He'll be aight.
This ain't right. IT'S NOT RIGHT! Why did he have to go. Malik not only played with heart but kept the team together and kept the chemistry running smoothly. This is by far for me the saddest moment in Spurs history. I still have a knot in my throat and it will never clear. It's gonna be hard to be in a Spurs game and look over to the bench and Malik is not there. I am gonna hate to see him in a Knicks uniform.
Malik's got Jesus, and also Dave on speed dial. He'll be aight.
I agree with one of the other posters.. I was much younger when Sean was traded and I remember being upset. This one has really gotten to me. He was, and is a heck of a player that brings a lot to his team. I think the Spurs will miss his fire on the court, and I know the fans will miss him even more..He will always be a Spur to me, and a heck of a lot of other people as well.![]()
I expect that the 21st March will be a very emotional day again, second only to NYKnick Malik returning to SBC next season.
You know in his heart Malik will always be a Spur. By saying that he and his family want to keep their home in San Antonio, he joins a lot of much-loved Spurs who were traded, but came home to be wonderful members of our community: Gervin, Sean, etc.
So this isn't goodbye, just, "Hasta luego, compadre."
That was the toughest trade I've had to endure as a fan. That goodbye was really tough to watch. Watching it, you almost want to reconsider the trade and take it back, but it's a done deal.
I think I was moved because I always viewed Malik as "The Ultimate Underdog". He was always playing guys bigger and taller than him, and he was always the professional. He didn't trash talk, he was always considerate. He might have bumped heads with Pop but I think this trade wasn't about that. It was about the Spurs lack of bigs and Malik's lack of size.
I also thought he was always underrated. But Malik always tried. Nobody can say that Malik didn't try 100% when he was on the floor.
Definitely a tough pill to swallow.
At first, I thought the trade was good, and it probably will help us. But I do feel a bit bummed.
If anything, I would've rather seen Rasho go instead. I could live with Nazr starting and keeping Malik here in San Antonio. I'm surprised they would've rather have Malik more than Rasho. I'm sure Rasho must've been offered.
Too bad the NBAPA doesnt allow players to rework and reduce their contracts. I have no doubt in my mind that if that was an option Malik would have done it in a heartbeat to stay here. I personally couldnt stand watching Malik on the court but I know he was a great person and a pleasure to be around. He was a true Spur off the court and I can respect that.
well saidThat was truly brutal. How can you not help but love that guy? He has a passion for the game and for the Spurs organization that won't be replaced. I think the trade makes them a better team, and I don't think Malik was ever going to be the type of impact player he has been in the past with this particular mix because the minutes were never going to be there- but it just hurts to see a guy like that go. You always hear the "it's a business" axiom thrown around when other guys in other cities get moved and notice in a detached way that it seems kind of sad to see it happen- but this one truly hurts because of the kind of person Malik Rose is and what he has meant to the Spurs- a hard working winner. He represents the kind of at ude and will that make you proud to root for a guy and a team like that. He will be sorely missed.
I hated to watch that....
RACK CYBER BOB !!
Very nice of you to take the time to give all the Spur fans from out of the state and country to be part of this huge event. And I know about 6 other websites that would love to have that link. and yet you choose ST to be the one to share it with..
rack CB he Rules !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph and I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away
You've gone away, you don't feel me, anymore
The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There’s so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
[x2]
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
You've gone away
You don't feel me here anymore
this is how i feel broken
Quasar, the hotlink worked just fine in Firefox. Why they can't just link it like that in the first place (CyberBob!!!) is beyond me, and apparently them, too.
this is so SADMalik has the worst season ever as a Spur but with his passion he is worth more than Nazr, well, Nazr is good no doubt, but Malik is a locker-room persona. If the Spur just signed him a little bit less than what he got he could have stayed in S.A.
Goodbye Malik, you are always in the heart of the Spurs fans, just like Sean & DRob...
Man that one really got to me I didnt feel so bad until
I saw how much he really loved it here. Sorry Malik maybe
in like 4yrs brother.
if only malik could lessen the money indicated in his contract..
question is.. would he? could he?
Damnit...I almost never can see the feeds on WOAI for some reason.
It just keeps loading and loading. Thats IF I switch explorer from firefox...which they still dont support for some reason.

Thanks Quasar. Just noticed the link you posted.
That one worked fine.
Very sad video indeed.
Somehow I get the feeling we havent seen the last of Malik as a Spur though.
I think some day he will be back.

That was really sad. He's been a part of the Spurs for so long and his contributions on and off the court have been undeniable, so you hate to see someone like that go. Best of luck in NY, Malik.
