Their need for a big man who can help on the weak side wouldn't be as bad if they had Salmon's perimeter defense starting at SF. IMO having good help defenders in the paint isn't as important as having good 1 on 1 perimeter defenders who can limit the amount of times the opposing perimeter player gets in the paint and make the opposing player work harder to get into the paint.
The Suns could have Ben Wallace (in his prime) and KG at power forward and center, but their help defense wouldn't matter because Nash's perimeter defense is so bad.
