A win is a win. I won't cry about Manu not playing that game. Did anyone take pity when the Mavs beat an Amareless Suns in the 2006 WCF? Not the Suns fault Manu was hurt. Besides even with a full squad the Spurs won by a single point.
It isn't about excuses. That has nothing to do with the point he was making. The point is that you cannot beat a full-strength Spurs team. Beating us without our 3rd best player and best clutch player means very little early in the regular season. Ask the Nuggets about reg. season success against the Spurs. You guys got a huge run to start the game and then got outplayed the rest of the way. Your team might be marginally better than the one we destroyed in 5 last year. This Spurs team is a LOT better with Mason and Hill rounding out our backcourt. I don't think we'd sweep the Suns this year, but I don't think the series would go past 5 again if we meet in the PO.

Which, by the way... you're the #9 seed now. Forget about beating us in the playoffs. You better worry about the Spurs IF you make it into the postseason.

You know what if the Suns play the Spurs that well come April,May or June I like thier chances. Is safe to say these 2 teams are pretty well evenly matched. Each team has won on the other's home floor this season. I am not really that upset about losing to the Spurs this time around..
Yeah, I'm sure this is a really satisfying moral victory for you bags. Suns bench matches up really well with the Spurs bench, don't you think. The 2 points your bench scored was almost as satisfying as that moral victory.

I think the Suns are better this year then they were last. They were caught between running and playing through Shaq last year. They ended up jacking too many 3's and not going through Shaq anywhere near enough.

This time around, they have an iden y again, and its not a Bush league 7 or second less iden y. Shaq is still a force down and Amare is getting more productive after a slow start.

Having said that, the Spurs have improved also with the addition of a 4th scoring option in Mason and a quality back up PG who could really disrupt Nash much like Bowen has done in the past.

I think the Spurs would win in 6.

Spurs would murder the suns in the playoffs if ever they would meet this year. Everyone knows the Spurs have a higher gear when it counts plus they have a lot more clutch players and a higher collective basketball iq.
