    for Manu Ginobili?
Manu is head and shoulders above RIP in my opinion. No Way, I'd take Manu @ 50% over RIP at 100% but I'd take RIP off the bench over Mason just because RIP would bring a different element to the Spurs and make it difficult for the other teams' D just because he moves so much and well without the ball, would help with our sometimes stagnant offense because you have to keep an eye on him even when he doesn't have the ball.

    for Manu Ginobili?
I think that with things finally getting settled down, a little more roster upheaval is just exactly what we need.

well idk. rip is a role player. plain and simple. id love to have him, sure, mainly because he doesnt get as cold as ginobili does, so he isnt as streaky. plus hes a better defender. ginobili, on the other hand, is an explosive scorer, and tries harder than rip. hes a better three point shooter, though his shooting touch isnt as advanced. however, as much as i would love to have another knockdown shooter, ginobili creates those opportunities. i would never want to part with his driving and kicking. pistons dont want him anyway.

it's always good to get a player who can contribute something to your team, but it's sometimes different when you have to sacrifise one of your corner stones for him. I have seen no chance we could get him without losing one of Manu and Tp, so it's not pramatic.

    for Manu Ginobili?
    You're kidding, right?

Manu is capable of winning a game in 5 ways, and I don't see that from Rip. Also, he has suffered without Chauncey and been exposed for the pure shooter (without much else to offer) that he is.

    No way in .

    Manu - creator
    Rip - feeder
    Exactly.

And Manu can win a game defensively, and he's a ferocious clutch rebounder.

I like Rip, but to suggest this... why? Why? Why?

    No.

    no.

Plays like that are EXACTLY why the notion of trading Ginobili is LUDICROUS!

100% healthy Manu -- absolutely no way RIP
90% healthy Manu -- Still no way RIP
80% healthy manu - - OK but RIP has to pay for his face masks.

If I were in charge of the Spurs, I don't do the trade either, but some of you Spurs fans are a bit extreme in your commentary. A 50% Manu better than a 100% Rip? Rip is a poor 3 point shooter? He led the league in the 3PT shooting a couple seasons ago with 46%. Last year he shot 44% from 3PT range. He's not a prolific 3 point shooter, but not a poor one. He doesn't create anything defensively? He doesn't have spectacular blocks or 3 steals a game, but he's probably a more consistent and more disciplined defender than Manu. Manu will make a spectacular defensive play, and he'll also gamble and get out of position from those gambles.

I agree that Manu is the better player. I agree the Spurs should not do the trade. I agree with the point about chemistry. But, dam, some of you are just stroking with Ginobilotion. And, I'm a Ginobili slappy myself.

Agreed...I wouldn't do the trade either but Rip Hamilton is a solid player that could definitely help the Spurs win.

A rebound, a pass... I was speaking colloquially. Basically, I've seen Manu win games in just about every way possible.
