the Clippers announcers are always among the best in the NBA..never biased, always fair, give good insight..I rank them in the top 3 with the Nets and Knicks announcers..

they always show a lot of love to the Spurs though, as do a lot of other teams..

Minnesota's announcers are probably the biggest Spurs homers of other teams I've seen though..their analyst is in love with Timmy..

Sean Elliott is gotta be the best announcer ever. Come on. He actually has fun and throws in some comedy into the game that no one else could pull off. He is a big homer but I would rather have a homer than have an announcer talk about how great the other team is the whole game.

He's a big homer that doesn't bash the other team and compliments them when the perform.

I'm glad people enjoyed the Clippers' announcers. Mike Smith and Ralph Lawler are by far the best in the NBA. I watch Clipper games just to listen to them - they're like two comedians together, like the Smothers Brothers, or Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly.

Mike played in the NBA, and he tells it like it is about the players. They fully understand how amazing Duncan and Manu are, as well as the Spurs organization.

I can give you some background on their comments about Manu. First, he's brilliant player - but he's also extrememly efficient. Far moreso than Kobe Bryant. The Clipper announcers see Bryant play all the time, and hear all the hype about him in LA, where he's a frigging mythological figure.

But they know the truth. Bryant is mostly a scorer who only recently thought about distributing more. My theory is that he realized he wasn't going to win an MVP until he started passing more, and even still, it wouldn't have happened without the ridiculous Gasol trade.

On the other hand, Manu is capable of scoring 20 points in a quarter at any time, yet it's not in his DNA to dominate the offense or the ball. Manu's DNA is strictly to win. Period.

Bryant's DNA is to be in the spotlight. Period. Actually, to be the spotlight. His makeup is to dominate not just the ball, but everything - the spotlight, the media, etc.

Manu and Bryant are actually polar opposites.

I forgot to mention Houston's announcers too. They think the world of their players and truly believe they are a notch above everyone else. It's always "what a brilliant move by McGrady" or "the dominance of Yao inside"! Who do they think they are foolin?

The same can be said about Portland's. Phoenix announcers just think they're cool because they come up with lame nicknames for their "stars".

Golden State announcers do a good job of giving credit where credit is due.

The new Houston announcers are not nearly as bad homers as the old ones who just retired if you can believe that.

I agree that Manu is more efficient and less selfish. Though, given Kobe's ability, his hyper-focus on scoring is probably best for his team.

I don't live in San Antonio (as you might guess from my screen name), so I watch all of my games on NBA League Pass. Often, whenever they pick up the opposing team's announcers, it's can be somewhat unbearable.

But other times (especially when they're playing a bad team), the opposition's broadcast crew spends all night talking about the Spurs. When that happens, it's always interesting to get an outside perspective on the team. The Clippers commentators complimented the Spurs throughout last night's game.

Among the things they said (paraphrasing)...

• "When Manu is 100%, this Team has as good a chance as any team in the west, or in the NBA for that matter."
  
  
• "With Manu, you're talking about a guy that was arguably MVP of the league for 2/3 of the season last year."
  
  
• "The Spurs have always had a way of finding great young players with late draft picks... Manu, Tony Parker, and now, George Hill."
  
  
• "Someone once said you need 3 stars to be a great NBA team, and the Spurs have them... and they all beat you in different ways. Manu beats you with his flamboyance. Tony beats you with speed. And Tim beats you with his mundaneness."
  
  
• "Fifty years from now, some stat geek will crunch numbers from Duncan's era and come to the conclusion that Kevin Garnett was just as good. And he'll be wrong."

Their announcers have a lot of respect for Manu's greatness, and would probably think the "trade Manu" crowd here is nuts. They talked very highly of George Hill. And like everyone else, they can't say enough about Tim.

Who cares? These same guys will be fast to yield a knife in the Spurs in their back as soon as the experience some type of set back. for instance, whenever the Spurs experience a losing streak. Announcers are quick to note that the Spurs are losing but do not indicate "why" ot "what" is impacting the losses. Like..Manu being injured...Tony Parker spraining an ankle..or Tim Duncan having ankle problems...But let it be a team in a larger market with the same type injuries... Their losing is predicated on the loss of their personel...Anyway, my point is WHO CARES!

we are gonna face Magics tonight but we haven't got a good defender who can stop DH (TD is a good defender though, but I want him to save his energy on the offensive end). If the clippers really love spurs, please trade Camby to spurs for Vaughn and KT. I know dunlevey has long be disapointed with his rosters and his team's stats, so I bet he is searching for a trade that can bring them a little bit change. no one can make sure this trade is gonna make his team a little bit better, but it's definite that they can't get worse.
