Do you expect Mason to make that again ?![]()
Pretty much what I was thinking in that 4th quarter.
Or for Pau Gasol to channel Michael Jordan.
Do you expect Mason to make that again ?![]()
make what? LOL it wasn't that difficult of a shot..
Mason is among the top 3 in 3-point shooting this year..he's made 3 game winning 3's, he's clutch as ..
comparing a random average player making 3 mid-range J's in a row in the 4th quarter to bring the Lakers back..to a guy making 1 and-1 shot to win the game..it's not the same at all..
Game shouldn't have been that close. Ginobili, Parker, and Duncan all had some bad turnovers to leave the door open.
But the way it ended was perfect. I love beating the Lakers in the last seconds.
FTL!
You can have the regular season victories.
I'll take the playoff wins, thank you very much.
We all know when it comes down to it the Lakers are the better team. 2nd night of a back to back, on the road, missing several key rotation players, starters playing heavy minutes......Spurs barely win by 1 pt on a fluke foul by Fisher. Simply put the Lakers showed why they are the best team in the WC in this loss.
lakers did a great job coming back but i also noticed a few mental mistakes on our part that should be fixed by focusing more. so all in all im happy with the win because both teams had great opportunities.
A win is a win, no doubt about that.
But this win doesn't necessarily prove the Spurs can compete in a 7 game series. Had they held LAL to 90 pts, grinded the game out, been super physical, harassed Kobe into a horrible shooting night....then I would start worrying. Until the Spurs start doing that they likely won't be able to beat the Lakers. Unless you think they can continue to score > 110 ppg.
Until the D can consistently play well especially in the clutch, the Lakers arent winning a championship anytime soon. Last year their D was . This year their D is even with Bynum and Ariza. That is seriously a glaring weakness for the Lakers. Fans think the D is going to magically play great out of nowhere because "it's the Lakers". They are a great offensive team but their vulnerable D is going to be their downfall come playoff time. You ought to be more concerned with that anything else.
Word!
these Spur fans and their regular season win. I will be so happy when they get eliminated in round one by the Hornets.
Ps: To the topic starter, shove you props in your taco eating ass!!
No surprise from a Laker fan. Anyway, I'll give props to Bryant but something I've noticed about Bryant. If he stands ANYWHERE on the court for more than four seconds, he's gonna make the shot from that spot.
Pssssst! Beat the Dallas Mavericks before you guys start tossing each others salad.
We'll take the playoff wins too, thank you.
And we all know the better team won last night.
SCOREBOARD !
There were so many teams in the NBA I grew up not liking. A few I even hated. But yall can thank spurstalk for me changing my ways. Now I love the NBA. I dont hate any team out there. Guess when you get to see the players up close and personal its a better life then the normal fan. There is not enough time on this planet to hate the Lakers. I bet Pop would love coaching the names on the Lakers roster.
none on this board claimed that this win proved the Spurs would beat the Lakers in a 7 games series.
on the other hand, the Spurs are just one big man away from getting at the same level, a smart move should get this done. what goes for the Spurs is, that they have more clutch weapons than the Lakers. Kobe is great, but you won't want to get into a last second decision against Tim, Manu and Mason.
The Lakers has shown they are here for real, I was quite impressed by Kobe, this guy is a ing winner, he wanted it badly. This is the reason why the spurs win is so good: he was so frustrated, nice to see.
Actually, they are already in yours
lol...i love ur comment. You'd like to see a angry piss of Kobe when the Lakers lose, cuz its satisfying to see...but you'd also not want to see an angry piss of Kobe few minutes before the game ends. Double edged sword.![]()
I agree the Laker's defensive woes need to be addressed, but I get the feeling we aren't seeing their maximum intensity right now in January. What I saw X-mas day is more indicative of what I'd expect to see in the playoffs.
Phil does not want to burn the team out this soon and risk further injury to key players.
Exact same thing for the Spurs
Phil and Kobe really wanted to win this game at all cost, trust me. The other guys on your team I'm not sure. On a clip I saw at the LakerGround of the last 12-sec I was shock to see Bynum reaction on the bench when Mason scored that last shot and got foul - he simply started laughing
The kid has a lot of talent but I don't think that he still have the right at ude to win it all yet. That can be a huge liability come playoff time,
I know you want to believe the Spurs are in the Laker's heads but the truth is they aren't.
best game of the season, easily so far. hope the next is as entertaining.
So that was Bynum laughing? I found that kinda weird too but maybe you're right, after all, he was the youngest player in the NBA at one point. I'm sure the rest of his teammates will bring him into reality, I'm sure he's just getting used to playing a bigger role on the team. But seriously though, this game was freaking awesome to watch.
I remember a couple seasons ago, when Oberto got into somebody's head... and caused the guy to get ejected.
Oberto "accidentally" bumped into the guy while walking off the court when the guy was already highly pissed about something, and the guy reacted and got ejected...
was that Bynum, or am I thinking about someone else?
