Looked like desperation to me. But at least Bonner didn't pull a Finley and throw it away.

Desperation can happen at the same time as reading a play - and even if it was simple desperation, he made a very good pass.

Old Bonner would have gotten a 5 second count because he was too nervous he'd turn it over some other way. This Bonner didn't have a panic button to even hit.
