I still need to check out this link to see what they are talking about, I still have no idea what games are coming out this year
Prototype- Looks like a cross between GTA, Ninja Gaiden and Spiderman.

That looks badass![]()
Oh, and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2. , yeah.
that list with a chainsaw...bunch of bull
1. Empire: Total War (3-3-09...soon, very soon)
2. God of War III (that trailer got this right)
3. Resident Evil 5 (this one also)
4. Prototype (this is my sleeper pick...could well end up sucking)
Is it just me, or do video games suck right now? Not enough "adult" content. All geared toward derivative play, or "Sin City" stylized bull . I realize the gaming majority is 13 years old...I get that.
But there are a lot of people my age still playing games. Besides Total War, there is nothing that applies to adult audiences exclusively. Everything has to be dumbed down, stripped apart and saddled with pop-culture references to even get a look anymore.
Is this what it feels like to get old and have the world pass you by? I have never considered for even one fleeting second to quit playing video games. In the past week, I have. Everything coming out is either a sports game (blech) or another shooter with a twist.
What happened to innovation? You know, Street Fighter II was cool....in 1992 (or whatever). It looks like the same game, the same exact game....with slightly better graphics. Starcraft II looks like its being tailored to the hardcore, which is fine. No innovation in interface, design or perspective in the previews I have seen. Im a quite sure South Korea is happy as with that...me, not so much.
I am just overall disappointed in the video gaming world immensely. 10 years ago, I used to drool at the thought of the games that "will" be. 10 years later, I am completely and utterly disappointed to the point of apathy with the medium. Give me Total War in less than 3 weeks, I guess I wont give a what the kids are playing.

....and I see balli posted a Prototype video....nice...
Street fighter, Halo Wars, COD MW 2.
Halo Recon or whatever the it's called.
I am sad there is no Elder Scrolls 5 in 09.
Street Fighter IV.
Is the .
That is all.
+1
3 and 4 are so great.
Really? Care to give a quick review?
The best Street Fighter since SFII - Champion Edition IMO.
Characters are in 3D, but the game is fought on a 2D plane and plays very smooth. I like the fact they got rid of parrying, it forces the action. They have a new attack/defense strategy called focus attacks (MP + MK). You charge it, and if you connect, it paralyzes/falls your opponent, and you can connect it with other combos. It can also absorb attacks, and you can cancel of of charging it.
Of course there are the Super/Ultra gauges. Super gauge builds as you attack, Ultra/Revenge gauge build as you take damage. Ultra combos are the most powerful and can change the match in an instant.
There's obviously a single player mode, which you gotta beat with various characters in order to unlock new characters (about 8). A neat thing is that you can make yourself available for online matches while playing single player mode -- a player can interrupt your match and challenge you, just like at the arcade. Online is lag-free and you can choose ranked or non-ranked matches. Other modes include Time Trial and Challenge mode (haven't really explored these ones yet).
Overall, I give it a 9/10. SF is back! And I'll you up with Ken.
After reading the new Game informer article on God Of War 3, i dont think there is a game I am more excited for.
Definitely with you there, Mardigan. You should watch the IGN trailer on IGN.
For me:
1. GoW3
2. RE5
3. Idk/idc.
I watched it, f-ing crazy.
As far as RE5, Im just really not sure. It just looks to be more of the same as the last game, which I did love, but hate when companies make a successful game and then put out the same thing in the sequel.
Is anyone gonna download The lost and damned?
Apparently it's a whole new game, new main character, everything, should be cool. I'm just wondering how much a download of that size will cost.
I'm just waiting for a Left 4 Dead download pack, then I will be happy.
I think 1600 MS points ($20) for 10-12 hours of gameplay.
Honestly, I wasn't impressed with the demo, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
Yeah, I was ting myself when I was watching that GoW3 trailer. It made me remember why I hadn't sold my ps3 yet.
God of War III looks amazing.
On G4 last week they were explaining that several (all?) of the levels take place on the ans. Which, in and of itself, isn't that special -- Pandora's Box was located in a temple that was entirely constructed on Cronos' back in the first game, and there were levels in GoW2 that took place on/around Typhon and Atlas, so we've been there already. However, when they were explaining that the ans are now controlled by their own AI and may, independently, stand up and move around during gameplay? Amazing. It actually reminded me of a combination between God of War and Shadow of the Colossus.
That's exactly what they are biting off of. Even in the trailer once it zooms out and you realize Kratos is fighting the whole time on a an, makes you realize that they took stuff straight from that game. The fact that you will be fighting upwards of 50 guys on screen at once is the most exciting part to me though.
Biting or not, God of War + Shadow of the Colossus = happy me. That is one beautiful bas child.
a- ing-men. Shadow of the Colossus is my all-time favorite game. God of War III looks absolutely sick.
I'm really looking forward to Star Ocean: The Last Hope though; I really like JRPGs and it looks pretty damn good.
Street Fighter 4 seems to finally have got the series on track, my roommate is getting it tomorrow so I get to try it out then.
