Do the sheeple here not understand that sales are driven by the mass media?

If the media wanted you to buy Tim Duncan T-shirts, he would be promoted to all the high schools, boys and girls, as a role model for sportsmanship, fundamentals, and family values, along with his unparalleled skills.
Outside of LA, the mass media rips Kobe for everything he does wrong rather then how good of a basketball player he really is. Since Colorado, he has been the least marketable superstar out there. Ask Sprite. Ask McDonalds. Ask Spalding. Ask Nike. His shoe sales are well below that of LeBron, Carmelo, and CP. You never see his commercials unless you know where to look online. He is far from being the poster child for sportsmanship or family values. The fact that the media treats him so negatively only fuels his game to elevate even higher. So how do you support your theory that that sales are driven by media in this case?

The mass media continually tells us that Kobe is the greatest player on earth, except when they are saying the same thing about Lebron.

The Colorado thing has disappeared from the mass media radar a long time ago.

The media continuously recognizes Duncan as one of the greatest power fowards of all time as well. This claim does nothing to increase his sales.

I am not saying that the Colorado issue ever gets brought up anymore, but I am saying that it has since changed the public's perception and how he gets treated by the media and his sponsers without a doubt.

    True.

But the QUAN Y of talk is more important than the QUALITY of talk.

The media talks a lot more about Kobe, than Duncan.

Probably by a 10+ to one ratio once you get off the sports news.
