That sucks for Jameer and the Magic.
, less compe ion for Boston![]()
just when they where hitting their stride... boom!
NBA... where the injury bug happen.
That sucks for Jameer and the Magic.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O!
I would have much rather lost Lewis or Turkoglu than Nelson. This is just awful news. AJ is garbage and we dont have a 3rd PG. There is no hope for a deep run in the playoffs w/o him.
God hates the Magic, seriously. No one else can tell me differently.
That sucks. He was having one of the better shooting years in recent memory. He was connecting on long twos like they were layups.
Hopefully he can play through it and wait until the offseason for surgery.
Easy to see why Pop had such a hard-on for Nelson a few years ago in the draft.
sounds like you guys could use jacque vaughn.
Yeah, if he would have fell one more spot the Spurs would have had him![]()
If there was anyone in the league I didn't think could possible separate a shoulder, it was Jameer Nelson and his gargantuan shoulder muscles.
That blows. Jameer is the guy I wanted the Cavaliers to take in 2004 instead of Luke Jackson.![]()
DAMP EARNIN THAT SALARY BABY
I kiiiid, I kiiid. I think it was the ground that caused it anyway.
If I could wish for anything basketball related other than obvious stuff, it would be Amare getting traded.
That's true...he does have some big shoulders!
did you just post a response to your own post?
This injury bug is getting pretty ridiculous.
that really does suck. Hope Jameer gets well. I was really rooting for the Magic to come out the East this year.
In fact, this is bad news for Boston. Magic always give lots of trouble to Cleveland, but I think they wouldn't beat the C's in a 7 games series.
Anyway, go get Tinsley, Orlando. If Tinsley is in form (and word is that he is), he's a heck of a point-guard on the offensive end. And he'll play with a chip on his shoulder.
Will Magic Deal For Help At Point Guard?
Feb 03, 2009 4:56 PM EST
With All-Star point guard Jameer Nelson expected to be out of the lineup for some time with a torn labrum, the Magic could look to acquire help at the position.
Free agent options include Eddie Gill, who is currently playing in the D-League, and Shaun Livingston, who was recently waived by Miami.
Although a deal seems unlikely, Raymond Felton of Charlotte and Earl Watson of Oklahoma City are point guards that might be available.

this totally sucks... orlando was definitely in my top 5 favs this season.
Injuries blow. They ruin the excitement that teams build and they are bad for the league.
it's a shame it happened to a player who having his best season of his career.
it looks like Magic are going to have to find some of their namesake...
odom tore his labrum. he rehabed and was able to come back although they told him pain will be a . you wont do more damage to yourself but you gotta rehab enough to be able to lift your arm past your head. odom came back went nuts in the last game against the suns in the elimnation game on one leg and arm.
its a matter of how bad it is. surgery its over for magic

Nelson Faces Season-Ending Surgery
Feb 04, 2009 9:19 AM EST
Magic point guard Jameer Nelson faces shoulder surgery that would end his season, but the team is trying to see if the procedure can be delayed.
Orlando general manager Otis Smith said on Tuesday that they are evaluating whether Nelson can return in "two to six weeks" and then have the surgery in the offseason.
"Either way," Smith said, "he's going to have to have it repaired."
Nelson told the Sentinel that he is going to take some time to weigh his options, while Smith weighed the pros and cons of him returning without having surgery.
"If you rehab it and play, the likelihood that it comes back out again is pretty significant. So, then you start dealing with other issues from there," Smith said. "Our concern is always for the player's future. When you have as much invested in him as we have, you have to think about long term.
"What's the long-term implications if this thing pops out again?"
The more it pops out the weaker that muscle gets.
