Good point. I'd say Charles Smith and both trading for Rodman and then gifting him to Chicago.
Yeah, Nazr was a pretty good early-game option in the Phoenix series, and he had that awesome block on Ben Wallace to force the shot-clock violation in game 7.![]()
Good point. I'd say Charles Smith and both trading for Rodman and then gifting him to Chicago.
I think people are missing the point of the thread. When was the LAST TIME Spurs made a power move. It was ing Kurt Thomas.
Yeah, it made sense when Pop didn't give a red hot Barry enough minutes vs the Lakers last season, giving them to Finley instead
Please enlighten me....
How is Barry doing now in Houston?
Seriously, I havnt been paying attention.
Also, Barry had his chance when he was re-signed and healed up after his injury.
Lets see.
George Gervin for David Greenwood 1985 I can't remember but I think David Greenwood blew out his knee shortly thereafter and never started again.
Alvin Robertson for Terry mings 1989 I'll never know for sure if this trade was right for us.
Sean Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Lu ck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_ for Dennis Rodman 1992. This is perhaps one of those trades where we say well we got what we were looking for but it still wasn't enough to get us over the hump.
Felix Lopez for Antonio Daniels 1998 Quite certain we got the better end of this deal.
1st round pick 95 draft 2nd round pick 96 draft for Sean Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Lu ck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_ 1994-95. Yeah this was a steal.
Then you have the Louis Scola trade which probally didn't work out so well.
Of course the one I hate to bring up that we missed big on was the Chris Carrawell selection in 2000. That year if some of you remember we had 2 sg's in that 2nd round we were looking at. Chris and *gasp* Micheal Redd. We decided on Chris because they felt he was a better defensive player he was waived in oct of 2000. We all know what happened with Redd :P
I forgot one!!! Here's one we missed on badly. LEANDRO BARBOSA. We drafted and then traded to Phoenix?=
I believe the Spurs and Suns already had an agreement beforehand that the former will draft Barbosa for the latter.
Hey, I love KT, but that was NOT a power move. Don't be ridiculous. He's not even a starter fer chrissakes! Sure, it was a good move, but a power move? That's reaching.
lol...powermove...the last powermove really was elliott for rodman or bringing elliott back!
I love the way the spurs are building their team...we dont need those major power trades...
...but right now its: "do it or see timmys last few years wasted!"
As far as big name players go, I would have to say the Sean Elliott-Dennis Rodman trade.
Which team has the banner for the last best power trade move?
Thats not a power trade. Pop and co. don't make impact trades that acquire stars.
Because winning teams don't have to.
Celtics.
The Spurs ever & never make a power trade
None
What is "power trade"?
Like AI for Billups, Ray Allen & KG to Boston
Karl Malone & Payton to Lakers
Steve returned to the Suns
I think these should be called "Power trades"
Is a power trade like a blockbuster trade?
I think we can also call any trade "power trade" that involves you, you're the world's biggest PF you know, and also the biggest MF as well.![]()
One would think that with the reach of the Spurs family tree now throughout the league that someone would throw us a bone. The Thomas deal last year was nice, but pales in comparison to the gift wrapped package Jerry West handed the Lakers with Gasol.
Only hope is that Pop has a black op going and will pull something off.
One way or another we'll know today...
It's all part of that Laker,David Stern, ratings conspiracy.
Since we're gonna just start naming trades: Tracey Murray for Dale Ellis in '93. Power trade right?![]()
Ellis had such a pretty 3pt stroke.
What’s up with the noise, no one in their right frame of mind really thought that the Spurs was going to pull off a big trade or even so give up a player with some worth for that missing piece that Spurs Fans are talking about. There are just no big men out there that can help the Spurs or make the team better with out disrupting the chemistry or the make up of the team and the front office was watching their pocket books. So there for we will be back here next year with the same wishful thinking.
