BenJarvis is a cliche with a keyboard.
Considering his team isn't currently in a playoff spot, he's probably not too happy.
Jesus, dude. You HAVE to be able to do better than that.
Can we have a devin harris/lmao mavs/ j-kidd is old thread stickied to the top like the oden thread?
I get pretty annoyed when people make Kidd out to be a scrub/franchise killer, whereas Devin Harris is a HoF lock.
When Harris badly outplayed Kidd in the 1st Nets/Mavs game this year, everyone made a big deal about it and laughed at the Mavs.
When Kidd outplayed Harris in the rematch, nobody said anything.
Harris's luck halfcourt shot, everyone laughs at our boys in blue.
Kidd's been clutch in the 4th a few times this year himself, but nothing is said of those outings.
If I had a mulligan I wouldn't do the trade, but people who bash on Kidd relentlessly are just being dumb. He's not as good as he once was, but he's not "washed up".
Furthermore, the revionist history. People act as if the Mavs were destined for something special with Harris. 1st round exit in 2007, 3 more losses before ASB than all of 2007, yeah... it looks like our Mavs were declining regardless of the Kidd trade. Franchises just have to at some point decline in the NBA. it's like a rollercoaster, a business, the economy. Rise, peak, fall. Mavs won 57+ 5/6 years from 01-02 to 06-07, including a 2006 championship if not for bad officiating. Well, that's long term sustained success. 8*50 as well, perhaps 9*50 after this year. It has to end at some point, Kidd isn't the sole culprit. FO blunders (aside from the Kidd trade), Stack's legs, J-Hos brain, Dirk no longer performing at an MVP level, apathetic defense, these things have to be considered as well.
Swap Harris for Kidd and the Mavs are still a good but not great team.
But hey, if you want to go even further back, the Mavs wouldn't even be in this situation if Cuban had ponied up and paid Steve Nash.
