Thanks...yeah...this team is more than just a team to me...it's part of my life..
Sweet story. This team is such a big part of a lot of our lives, it's always nice to hear people's experiences with them.
Thanks...yeah...this team is more than just a team to me...it's part of my life..
some how, some way... house always paTROLLs his way to any thread that mentions a slight hint of the lakers
Laker trolls are comedy gold. Really how pathetic can you get having to go to another team's forum for attention. Just funny, funny guys in a sad and pathetic way but crap does makes the flowers grow.
there is nothing i like more than a cool fan of another team, even a tiny bit of ribbing is good. if somebody is a jerk, i ignore them. i am a dad and i want to teach my kids that people can only get to you if you let them.
like drob said (paraphrasing) "you might beat me and you might not, but you won't beat me with your mouth"
since ive been to at&t center many times for laker games and ialways wear my jersey.... not once I have experienced hater from other fans.... maybe its the fact that i sit in the lower bowl section of the arena and those fans are little more classy than the ones sitting in nose bleeds.
or
it could be the fact that i dont shout blantant hate towards the spurs....Ill cheer for the lakers...clap when a spurs free throw rims out and bring up ol facts against the spurs like the asterik season... or cant repeat... or boring... etc... i never use the words suck.... it sounds too much like and a fight might break out
I treat them with respect unless other Spurs fans gang up and really start dogging on them... then I join in because that makes it ok.
I've seen drinks thrown at each other by fans, at several games, too. Some opposing fans just get extremely annoying, even when their team is losing by double digits. It's sad, really.
I dont think there is much violence in NBA Basketball, generally everyone seems to get along at the games. In European basketball there is, teams like Partizan belgrade and Red Star belgrade, Serbia, their fans are smashing each others head every game, they even take guns to the game. Olympiacos and Panathinaikos from Greece too!
Let's not even talk about football (soccer), that's really bad in Europe, with people even getting killed at fan confrontations.
The USA should be happy there is no such hooliganism in their sports.
I got a Laker fan to get up and leave in the middle of a playoff game back at the Alamodome one time. LA jumped out to a quick lead in the first quarter and this dummy in a Kobe jersey got up and started dancing and talking to the entire section the whole quarter, so I started talking it back the whole game. By the third quarter I kept telling him to get up and cheer since he was only down single digits and finally he couldn't take it anymore and left halfway into the third to a chorus of boos from the section. Prob a good idea, as fourth quarters weren't pretty for the Lakers that series.![]()
I went to a Spurs-Lakers game in Atlanta in '06 that we ended up losing. The Hawks fans were pretty cool with the Spurs fans (there were quite a few of us). I was bummed when we lost the game, but in the midst of their excitement one of the Hawks fans said to me, "Don't worry, you guys will be fine. To us, this feels like a championship!" They had a point.
I went to the Spurs-Pistons game at the Palace (wearing my Spurstalk softball shirt!) and cheered for the Spurs. You do it in a mature way and people don't mess with you. I had a good time with the Pistons fans around me. They were all pretty cool. We had fun and had some good-natured ribbing but in the end it was all very classy.
I cant really say as I live in ct and go to see the spurs at MSG or the IZOD in NJ. The knick fans are pretty cool if you keep the dissing at an exceptable level(LOL) and NJ has more spur fans than theyre own(LOL). As long as the opposing teams fans beer or popcorn doesn't touch me they can holler all they want.
I think BB's strategy is the best - most fans who are obnoxious blowhards can't take it.
If all else fails, dump a bowl of guacamole on his head.
I wore a Robert Horry t-shirt jersey to game 7 in New Orleans last season. For the most part, fans were cool and we had some good-natured trash talking. After the Spurs won, most everyone was gracious in defeat, with exception of the "Where's your greencard? clap clap clapclapclap" chant we got on the way to the car.
Being a Spurs fan living in another city (Phoenix) I am usally the guy that is getting taunted or heckled during games. I understand that I am a fan of another team going into their "home" arena but Phoenix fans are the worst. (Especially since 2007) Unfortunately I have only been able to see the Spurs from here in Arizona and you could only imagine the things that people say to me. Beofore 2007 (Horry Incident) it wasn't nearly as bad as it is now, people want to fight me they are constantly shouting names etc... during last years playoff series I wasn't even at the arena I was at a grocery store right after (game 1) wearing my Tim Duncan Jersey and two guys followed me into the store just to try and fight me because of the team I liked. They didn't realize I had my other 4 friends with me so they backed off but still.
One day I will be able to watch the Spurs @ home and most likely I wouldn't heckle other fans of other teams unless they got out of hand. It would seriously be such a joy to watch a Spurs game in SA without hearing the non sense of Phoenix fans!
I would ask Kori to ban his ass
Oh man I would have been murdered if i would have worn a Horry jersey to a Phoenix game last year![]()
Personally, I don't care what any other fan says when I am at the game. Quite frankly, if they yell "You suck, The Spurs suck" and stuff like that, it only makes them look stupid and blinded by the recent success of the Spurs. Let them talk... they will look like idiots when the season is over.
I remember game 7 of the 2005 Finals - we were watching it on that HUGE inflatable screen at Champps. There was a very big crowd and there was one table of Pistons fans who were hooting and hollering and talking trash - especially early in the game.
However - they ended up sneaking out early when it was obvious the Spurs were going to win.![]()

I have always been nice to fans from other teams at the AT&T, and home team fans in other arenas have always had fun with me when I am cheering for the visiting team- whether Spurs or Raptors or Pacers. I have actually met a lot of people that way- family and friends of the opposing team's players. I had the most fun at game 4 in Dallas in 2006- the one that went to OT. As it would be, I was the lone woman sitting in an area of at least 100 men, and they were all Mavericks fans. It is just a game after all, and when it is over you say good game- had fun- and see you again.
When I see fans of other teams on the concourses, I pick them up and put them in trashcans.
When I see fans of other teams in bathrooms, I administer swirlies.
Period.
Judging by the photo you posted of yourself, I imagine most Spurs fans would think you were from San Antonio and had jumped on the Lakers bandwagon. Not sure if they would treat you any better or worse because of that though.
How do you treat road team fans at AT&T Center?
Kill their first born. Or you can just boo/hiss.
Personal choice.
does rapper earn a ban after his next one? next time wasting thread i mean.
because he should.
that is all.
