Bottom line is health. I think the SPURS are the only legitimate team to BEAT the Lakers in the West if we are healthy and Drew Gooden can meld into the Spurs system. The Lakers pose a serious threat by there size, athleticism, and confidence that Kobe Bryant brings. The Spurs have the experience, heart, and coaching that can dominate in a 7 GAME SERIES. Go Spurs Go!

What I see has to do with the rotation on defense and it doesn't matter if its the Lakers or the Hornets on the pick and roll. When we double or when Tony gets caught by a pick, Tim usually rotates on the double or on the pick. The problem lies on the who covers the guy when the ball gets kicked out of the double or tossed towards the rim on the pick. Bonner, Oberto and Thomas all are too slow of foot and are always a split second late on the rotation.

The solution I believe may come in Gooden who is more athletic and can make the rotation on the pick and in greater use of Bowen for perimeter defense support to counter the double team kick out. Manu back will also have provide a major lift to the perimeter defense.

Duncan and Gooden on Bynum and Gasol....

    What's the problem?

Odom is not a dominant 6'10-7'0 player...he's average..

Completely different situation once Gooden gets in there.
