Eight years ago I was in HEB when a huge hail storm hit SA. I came out and both my windshields were shattered. So mad, I had to miss the Wolves (and you know who) in town for the play-offs so I could get my car driveable.
Was at work so I missed round 2 of the hail. I did see lightning strike a rooftop or a transformer when I was driving home during the storm. Big flash then an explosion with sparks. Cool stuff.
Apparently a tornado was seen but it didn't touch the ground in Austin.
The cars are a dimpled mess, especially my father-in-law's brand new Camry. Even so we were luckier than some who have broken out windows, fences down, and garage doors that look like someone took a ball-peen hammer to them.
Yeh, my car took a couple dings but I braved the crazy dart in the hail to get it moved under one of the reserved car ports. Managed to avoid most of the damage. It's kind of at that point where I don't know if it will be cheaper to deal with the insurance or just have it fixed myself.
I just got done dealing with those chumps over the LAST hailstorm.
TWC just reported that the storm that is moving through DFW has produced grapefruit size hail.
Yeah, there's a big nasty cell an hour or two W of Austin again. Looks like it may go south of the metro this time.
Yeah, i've been watching that bas on radar for the past hour.
stearing is non existant on those storms - they're not going to go towards Austin or San Antonio.
